Overview

Triconex 4509 HIM is a Hiway interface communication module for the Tricon TMR safety instrumented system (SIS). This Triconex module realizes data interconnection between the Tricon safety controller and Honeywell TDC2000 / TDC3000 DCS via Honeywell Data Hiway / Hiway Gateway. 4509 HIM is a legacy hot-swappable rack module, widely used for petrochemical, power plant SIS cabinet maintenance, system renovation and spare‑part replacement of old Tricon-Honeywell interconnection links.

Features

Triconex 4509 HIM supports dual isolated Data Hiway channels and redundant hot standby configuration, which can be online replaced without system shutdown. Principle

Triconex 4509 HIM Hiway interface module is installed in the Tricon backplane rack and communicates with the Tricon main processor via the backplane bus. The module converts the internal Tricon protocol into Honeywell Data Hiway protocol, and transmits process data and setpoints to the TDC DCS. It also receives operation commands and set values sent by the DCS operator station and forwards them to the Tricon safety controller. When the working channel fails, the hot standby HIM automatically switches to take over communication without interrupting data exchange. Built‑in self‑diagnosis continuously monitors link quality and module hardware health, and triggers fault alarm once abnormality is detected.
