1747-SDN Product Description

Description

1747-SDN Product Description Allen-Bradley 1747-SDN, also named SLC500 DeviceNet scanner module, is a fieldbus communication scanner for SLC 500 PLC series. It is designed to connect SLC controller to DeviceNet network, supporting cyclic I/O data exchange between PLC and remote field devices for old automation equipment renovation.

This module delivers reliable bus scanning for industrial control tasks. The bus scanning works as DeviceNet master to scan multiple slave nodes. The bus scanning realizes real-time input and output data collection and transmission. Stable bus scanning completes distributed field device control for production machinery.

The built-in communication circuit achieves steady data exchange. The data exchange transfers I/O signals between SLC CPU and DeviceNet bus. The data exchange supports multiple baud rate options for different network layout. Accurate data exchange ensures synchronous data interaction according to control programs.

Backplane plug-in structure brings convenient system expansion. System expansion can be directly inserted into SLC500 PLC rack. System expansion exchanges data with SLC processor via chassis backplane. Flexible system expansion is widely used for legacy SLC500 system spare replacement.

1747-SDN supports network node diagnosis and communication status monitoring function, equipped with terminal block for DeviceNet bus wiring. It has LED status indicators for bus link and module fault diagnosis. Widely applied in material handling machines, packaging equipment and traditional assembly lines. This product is discontinued by Rockwell Automation, mainly supplied as industrial spare parts, complying with SLC500 industrial control standards.
