1746-BAS Product Description Allen-Bradley 1746-BAS, also named SLC500 BASIC language module, is an intelligent auxiliary processor module for SLC 500 PLC series. It is designed to run BASIC user programs and handle serial data interaction, supporting external device communication and data acquisition for old automation equipment renovation.

This module delivers reliable program execution for extended control tasks. The program execution supports BASIC language programming for custom logic development. The program execution realizes independent data calculation and peripheral device control. Stable program execution completes auxiliary processing for SLC PLC control system.

The built-in serial circuit achieves steady serial communication. The serial communication provides two configurable serial ports for RS232/422/485 signal. The serial communication supports adjustable baud rate for HMI, printer and sensor connection. Accurate serial communication ensures data exchange according to user BASIC program.

Backplane plug-in structure brings convenient system expansion. System expansion can be directly inserted into SLC500 PLC rack. System expansion exchanges data with SLC CPU via backplane bus. Flexible system expansion is widely used for legacy SLC500 system spare replacement.

1746-BAS supports DH485 bus connection and communication fault diagnosis function, equipped with multi-pin serial connectors for external wiring.
