GE Panametrics DEWMET-2 Industrial Dew Point Hygrometer

DEWMET-2 is a compact wall-mounted dew point transmitter developed by GE Panametrics, adopting aluminum oxide thin-film sensing technology. It continuously detects trace moisture and dew point values inside compressed air and process gas pipelines, outputting standard industrial signals for dry system monitoring, pipeline anti-corrosion protection and production quality control in petrochemical, power and semiconductor industries.

Description

DEWMET-2 takes high-stability aluminum oxide sensing probe as the core measuring component. The sensor forms a stable capacitive response according to water vapor adsorption capacity, converting gas trace moisture content into accurate dew point numerical values, and supports dual display modes of dew point temperature and PPMv moisture concentration. The built-in microprocessor completes temperature compensation and signal linear correction automatically, effectively offsetting measurement errors caused by process temperature fluctuations and ensuring long-term stable measurement precision under variable working conditions. It is widely matched with compressed air dryers, natural gas delivery pipelines, instrument air systems and inert gas purification pipelines to avoid pipeline internal condensation corrosion and equipment component water damage caused by excessive moisture.
The main body adopts an integrated sealed metal shell with good dust-proof, moisture-proof and anti-corrosion capability, adapting to humid workshops, outdoor pipe galleries and conventional hazardous production areas. The applicable working temperature range is -20°C to 65°C, and stable measurement performance can be maintained under 95% non-condensing humidity for long-term 24-hour unattended operation. The product supports loop-powered power supply mode with low power consumption design, equipped with 4–20mA analog signal output and relay alarm contact output; when the dew point exceeds the set threshold, the device will trigger an alarm signal to remind on-site personnel to overhaul drying equipment in a timely manner. Standard process thread interface is reserved for direct insertion installation on gas pipelines, simplifying field construction steps without complicated sampling auxiliary equipment.
Each DEWMET-2 undergoes strict factory calibration with traceable standard moisture generating equipment, together with long-time powered aging test and sealing tightness inspection before delivery to guarantee measurement consistency of individual products. Long-term use will lead to sensor surface contamination and calibration drift, resulting in inaccurate dew point data and increasing the failure risk of downstream pneumatic instruments. Replacing with calibrated original DEWMET-2 equipment realizes plug-and-play installation without complex parameter debugging, greatly shortening instrument maintenance downtime and production hidden dangers.
New dew point transmitters are deployed for new gas drying system construction projects, while spare DEWMET-2 units are used for daily maintenance replacement of online moisture monitoring equipment. Real-time dew point data provided by this instrument optimizes the operation load of drying equipment, reduces unnecessary energy consumption of drying systems, lowers pipeline corrosion maintenance costs, and provides reliable moisture monitoring guarantee for safe and stable operation of industrial gas supply systems under long-cycle continuous production conditions.
