GE Gx868 Ultrasonic Flow Transmitter with 703-1253 Matching Cable Assembly

Gx868 is a high-performance fixed ultrasonic flow meter from GE Panametrics for gas and liquid pipeline measurement. The 703-1253 is the original dedicated shielded signal cable for the Gx868 system, responsible for reliable signal transmission between clamp-on transducers and the main transmitter to guarantee stable long-term metering performance in industrial sites.

Description

The Gx868 transmitter adopts optimized transit-time and correlation ultrasonic algorithms, designed to adapt to complex working conditions including turbulent flow, mixed components and dirty media inside industrial pipelines. With fully non-intrusive external clamping installation, there is no need to cut pipelines or halt production during construction. No wetted parts exist within the pipeline loop, creating zero pressure loss and eliminating medium pollution risks. It can measure natural gas, flare gas, cooling water and process liquids for petrochemical flare emission statistics, power plant water balance monitoring and factory material accounting management. The built-in multi-level digital filtering module suppresses waveform clutter caused by pipe scaling, wall corrosion and strong electromagnetic interference from on-site motors and inverters, improving data stability under harsh workshop environments. The unit supports 4–20mA analog output and Modbus communication interfaces to upload flow data to DCS platforms, and the DIN rail mounting structure facilitates centralized cabinet arrangement for unattended continuous operation from -20°C to 60°C under 95% non-condensing humidity.
703-1253 serves as the exclusive original connecting cable for Gx868 matched probes. The cable core uses high-purity copper to reduce attenuation of weak ultrasonic excitation and echo signals during long-distance transmission along pipe racks. Double-layer metal braided shielding effectively isolates external electromagnetic noise to prevent flow signal distortion and data jumping. The outer sheath is made of wear-resistant, oil-proof and anti-aging industrial polymer material, resisting abrasion, damp and weak corrosive gas in outdoor pipe galleries and chemical workshops. Both ends are equipped with factory molded integrated connectors with accurate pin definitions, enabling direct plug-and-play connection without manual wiring transformation during replacement. Internal tensile protection structures avoid wire breakage induced by long-term equipment vibration and cable pulling. Each 703-1253 passes continuity inspection, insulation testing and fatigue tensile verification before delivery.
Aging cable sheath damage or shielding failure will directly degrade the overall measurement precision of the Gx868 host system. Replacing with genuine 703-1253 cables quickly recovers the measuring accuracy of the flow system and cuts equipment maintenance downtime significantly. New Gx868 complete sets together with 703-1253 cables are applied for new metering project construction, while calibrated spare cables are widely used for daily maintenance of online flow monitoring equipment. The matched combination ensures sustained accurate flow measurement, helps enterprises standardize emission data reporting, reduces pipeline operation hidden dangers, and lowers the long-term operation and maintenance expenditure of industrial fluid and gas metering systems in continuous production scenarios.
