GE P1347 is a matched external clamp ultrasonic sensor for Panametrics XMT868, AT868 and GC868 flow transmitters. It sends and receives ultrasonic signals through the outer wall of pipelines, supporting non-invasive measurement for gas and liquid media, serving as the core sensing component for industrial pipeline flow online monitoring.

Description

GE P1347 ultrasonic transducer adopts integrated piezoelectric wafer assembly structure, cooperating with the host flowmeter to operate based on the transit-time measurement principle. Fixed on the outer surface of metal and plastic pipelines via fixture clamping, it never contacts internal process fluid, eliminating pipeline cutting, medium leakage and fluid flow field disturbance risks during installation and operation. This non-contact structure is perfectly applicable to long-term measurement of natural gas, flare gas, circulating cooling water and process liquid in petrochemical plants, power stations and gas transmission stations, especially suitable for old pipelines that cannot be shut down or reconstructed.

The transducer shell is made of high-strength corrosion-resistant alloy material with good dustproof and waterproof performance, adapting to ambient temperature ranging from -20°C to 70°C, and maintains stable acoustic emission and receiving performance under 95% non-condensing humidity in pipe galleries and outdoor equipment areas. The contact surface uses wear-resistant resin material to resist abrasion caused by long-term repeated clamping and disassembly on rough pipe walls, slowing down the attenuation of ultrasonic energy. The matched integral armored signal cable adopts double-layer shielding design, which effectively filters electromagnetic interference from on-site inverters, large motors and welding equipment, avoiding signal loss and waveform distortion in long-distance signal transmission.

The internal damping structure optimizes ultrasonic waveform consistency, reduces clutter echoes generated by pipeline scaling and wall corrosion, and improves the host’s calculation accuracy of flow velocity and cumulative flow. This transducer covers a wide range of standard pipe diameters and matches multiple GE fixed ultrasonic flow host models without additional adapter conversion, realizing plug-and-play assembly and simple field calibration work. Each P1347 undergoes acoustic parameter calibration, continuous aging test and sealing tightness inspection before factory delivery to ensure consistent measurement precision of each batch of products.

Aging, surface wear and sealing failure of transducers are common faults of flow measurement systems, which will directly lead to flow data deviation and affect material balance statistics and environmental emission reporting accuracy. Using calibrated original P1347 replacement sensors can quickly restore the detection performance of the flow measurement system and greatly shorten maintenance downtime. New original transducers are used for supporting delivery of new flow metering projects, while tested spare transducers are widely used in daily maintenance of in-service flow monitoring equipment.
