GE 8500 Portable Ultrasonic Flow Measurement Device

GE 8500 is a portable clamp-on ultrasonic flow meter under Panametrics, designed for non-invasive flow measurement of liquid media inside closed pipes. It installs externally without pipe cutting or process shutdown, widely used for flow verification, spot inspection and routine flow calibration in industrial pipeline systems.

Description

The GE 8500 portable ultrasonic flowmeter adopts the transit-time measurement principle, with external clamp-on transducers mounted directly on the outer wall of metal and plastic pipes. There is no contact between the measuring components and internal process fluid, eliminating medium leakage risk, pipeline pollution and pressure loss problems brought by intrusive flow equipment. This non-destructive installation mode allows field measurement without stopping production pipelines, greatly reducing construction costs and production interruption losses for continuous processing enterprises such as petrochemical plants, water treatment stations and power plants.

The host unit is equipped with a high-resolution display screen and built-in data storage module, capable of recording real-time flow rate, cumulative flow, flow velocity and temperature related data for later data export and analysis. Matching transducer specifications support measurement on pipes of multiple calibers, covering common pipe sizes applied in factory water supply, circulating water, oil delivery and chemical liquid conveying pipelines. The internal signal processing circuit carries noise filtering algorithms to offset signal attenuation caused by pipe scaling, wall thickness changes and external electromagnetic interference, ensuring stable measuring precision under complex industrial field conditions.

The whole machine features an integrated handheld casing with dustproof and splash-proof structure, adapting to field working temperature from -10°C to 50°C, and can work normally under 95% non-condensing humidity. Standard communication interfaces support data docking with on-site recording equipment and upper monitoring platforms. Each finished GE 8500 passes factory flow calibration with standard test pipelines to guarantee overall measurement consistency.

This portable instrument is commonly used for regular inspection of fixed flow meters, pipeline flow balance testing and temporary flow monitoring tasks. Original complete sets serve for new project configuration, while matched spare probes and host accessories are supplied for equipment maintenance. It effectively solves the difficulty of flow detection for old pipelines that cannot be disassembled and reconstructed, lowers the overall testing and maintenance cost of the fluid conveying system, and provides reliable flow basis for process parameter adjustment and pipeline operation status evaluation in long-term industrial production.
