GE XMT868I-1-11-T Intrinsically Safe Ultrasonic Flow Transmitter
Description
Core Measurement Principle and Electrical Performance
This intrinsically safe transmitter processes ultrasonic echo signals sent back by matched external sensors. The internal high-speed DSP circuit filters signal noise triggered by pipeline scaling, fluid impurities and field electromagnetic disturbances, securing high-fidelity signal analysis. It computes flow velocity, volumetric flow, mass flow and totalized flow in real time, supporting 4–20mA analog output, pulse signal and Modbus digital communication to upload data to DCS and PLC systems. The whole unit is strictly calibrated before delivery with favorable linearity and minimal long-term zero drift, lowering regular field recalibration workload. Built-in isolated circuit design conforms to intrinsic safety standards, limiting internal voltage and current values to prevent electric sparks in flammable gas environments. Internal firmware supports power-off storage of pipeline parameters and configuration settings without repeated setup after power recovery. All electronic components undergo high-low temperature aging screening to sustain stable measurement performance under long-term continuous running state.
Structural Design and Environmental Adaptability
The transmitter housing adopts sealed explosion-proof enclosure structure with dustproof and moisture-proof properties, meeting intrinsic safety certification requirements for explosive working zones. The built-in circuit board is covered with anti-corrosion conformal coating to cope with humid air, dust and weak corrosive media inside petrochemical plants, refineries and gas gathering stations. It satisfies industrial EMC criteria and resists interference from nearby motors, inverters and high-power electrical equipment. The front panel is equipped with digital display and physical operation buttons for parameter configuration, real-time data checking and fault code inquiry. Standard guide rail wall-mounted structure is easy to install inside explosion-proof control cabinets. Lock-type wiring terminals prevent poor contact caused by long-term pipeline vibration, further improving operation stability in severe field conditions.
Matching Components and Application Scenarios
Compatible with Panametrics series ultrasonic transducers to form a complete non-intrusive flow measurement system. Mainly applied to flammable liquid pipeline flow monitoring in oil & gas transmission, chemical processing plants, refinery circulating fluid measurement, chemical solvent delivery pipelines and coal chemical process water metering. It is the designated flow monitoring equipment for Zone 0 and Zone 1 hazardous locations. When ordinary transmitters cannot satisfy explosion-proof requirements or existing XMT868 series hosts break down, this intrinsically safe model can be replaced directly to resume flow monitoring and guarantee production safety management in hazardous areas.
Operational Stability and Maintenance Advantages
Each finished transmitter passes explosion safety inspection, flow calibration and long-duration stability aging test before shipment to ensure consistent batch performance. Built-in self-diagnosis function can identify transducer disconnection, signal attenuation and internal circuit faults, feeding back fault prompts for rapid troubleshooting. The plug-and-play matching mode reduces on-site installation difficulty and maintenance time for field staff. Original GE intrinsically safe transmitters eliminate explosion risks and measurement inaccuracies caused by non-certified generic substitutes. Shockproof sealed packaging supports long-term spare parts warehousing, and electrical performance will not degrade significantly under dry constant-temperature storage environments.
