GE 26MG-XT Portable Ultrasonic Thickness Gauge

GE 26MG-XT is a handheld NDT ultrasonic thickness measuring instrument under Panametrics division. It calculates wall thickness of metal pipelines, vessels and equipment via ultrasonic echo principle, realizing single-side detection for internal corrosion, abrasion and wall thinning in industrial facilities.

Description

  • Core Measurement Principle & Electrical Performance

This gauge adopts pulse-echo ultrasonic detection technology, matched with dual-element ultrasonic probes to transmit and receive acoustic signals through the material surface. The built-in high-speed digital processing circuit eliminates signal noise caused by material surface roughness, coating layers and industrial electromagnetic interference. It supports through-coat measurement, echo-to-echo measurement and high-temperature measurement modes, with a full measurement range of 0.5 mm ~ 508 mm and the highest display resolution up to 0.01 mm. Equipped with automatic probe identification function, the device automatically corrects V-path errors and optimizes signal gain according to different probe parameters. It supports 20 times per second fast minimum thickness capture, high-low thickness alarm, data freeze storage and material sound velocity calibration functions. All core circuits pass factory aging calibration, featuring stable measurement repeatability and low zero drift during long-term field continuous use. The built-in power management module supports long-term battery power supply for outdoor field inspection work.

  • Structural Design & Environmental Adaptability

The whole machine adopts compact pocket-sized integrated structure with splash-proof and impact-resistant engineering casing, easy for single-hand holding and carrying. The color shortcut keypad simplifies function operation steps, and the backlit LCD screen ensures clear reading under dim workshop and outdoor environments. Internal circuit boards are coated with protective paint against moisture, dust and weak corrosive gas. The product complies with industrial EMC standards, resisting electromagnetic disturbance from surrounding motors, pumps and frequency converters. The standard probe interface realizes quick pluggable connection, and the sealed cable outlet effectively prevents liquid and dust from invading internal electronic components. The overall structure meets military anti-vibration and shock standards, adapting to complex inspection conditions in chemical plants, thermal power plants and oil & gas stations.

  • Matching Accessories & Industrial Application Scenarios

Compatible with Panametrics full series 2MHz~10MHz dual-element ultrasonic probes. Widely used in petrochemical pipeline corrosion detection, pressure vessel wall thickness inspection, boiler pipeline safety testing, storage tank wall abrasion monitoring, fire piping inspection and marine equipment thickness periodic detection. It is an essential portable testing tool for enterprise equipment safety assessment, regular maintenance and pressure pipeline filing inspection. When the original thickness gauge fails in measurement data deviation and signal response failure, this device can replace old equipment to guarantee the progress of on-site nondestructive testing work.

  • Operational Stability & Maintenance Advantages

Each 26MG-XT instrument undergoes thickness calibration, signal stability test and full-function aging inspection before delivery to ensure consistent batch performance. Calibration parameters and measured data can be saved after power failure without repeated parameter configuration after restart. Daily maintenance only needs regular inspection of probe cables, coupling agent and battery status with low maintenance cost and technical threshold. Original GE NDT instruments avoid measurement errors and hidden safety risks caused by generic low-cost gauges, improving the authenticity of industrial equipment safety detection data. Shockproof sealed original packaging is applicable to long-term warehouse storage, and the overall measurement performance will not degrade obviously under dry storage environment.
