GE MTS5-311-10 DIN Panel Dew Point Moisture Transmitter
GE MTS5-311-10 is fifth-generation panel-mounted moisture analysis host from GE Panametrics. It matches MMS35 alumina probes to convert weak capacitance signals into standard industrial signals for long-term online trace moisture monitoring of pressurized process gas.
Description
MTS5 series is the upgraded Moisture Target Series 5 dew point transmitter platform optimized for circuit precision and anti-interference performance. Code parsing: MTS5 = fifth-generation digital moisture measurement platform; 311 stands for standard DIN panel mounting structure, basic signal conditioning circuit and single-channel signal input framework; 10 represents factory fixed measuring range parameters and standard single-channel analog output firmware configuration. This transmitter forms a complete gas dew point monitoring system when paired with full MMS35 series insertion alumina moisture probes.
The built-in high-precision signal conditioning chip processes capacitance changes generated by the alumina sensing chip. Combined with real-time temperature feedback from the probe’s built-in NTC thermistor, the internal algorithm automatically compensates measurement deviation caused by gas temperature drift. The effective dew point measuring range covers -110°C ~ +60°C, with stable detection performance for ultra-dry compressed air, nitrogen, hydrogen, natural gas and SF6 insulating gas, satisfying monitoring requirements for power stations, air separation plants, petrochemical sites and pharmaceutical clean workshops.
The unit adopts standard DIN rail embedded panel installation for centralized layout inside industrial analysis cabinets. The front LCD screen displays real-time dew point value, ppm moisture concentration, probe working status and system fault codes directly. Matching operation buttons support field calibration, alarm threshold setup and equipment self-inspection without extra configuration software. All internal PCB boards are coated with three-proof conformal coating against moisture, dust and weak corrosive gas erosion, running stably under ambient temperature of -20℃ ~ +60℃.
Standard hardware configuration includes isolated 4–20mA analog output channel and reserved RS485 Modbus communication interface. Collected moisture data can be uploaded to DCS, PLC and SCADA centralized control systems to realize remote data recording, trend analysis and high/low dew point interlock protection. The embedded intelligent self-diagnosis function feeds back faults such as probe open circuit and signal attenuation via error codes, lowering the difficulty of field troubleshooting for maintenance staff.
This product has obtained ATEX intrinsic safety certification. Equipped with certified safety barriers, it can be deployed safely in Zone 1 and Zone 2 flammable hazardous areas of chemical factories and refineries. Standard unified marked wiring terminals facilitate quick wiring connection with dedicated probe shielded cables to reduce wiring errors during installation and commissioning. Every MTS5-311-10 is calibrated with NIST-traceable standard moisture gas before delivery, with complete calibration reports provided for user filing and third-party metering audit.
No mechanical wearable moving parts are equipped inside the transmitter body, maintaining a low failure rate during 24-hour uninterrupted long-term operation. Daily maintenance only requires regular dust cleaning for the display panel and annual systematic calibration inspection. When the matched MMS probe sensing performance declines, users only need to replace the probe core instead of the whole transmitter, cutting spare parts cost and maintenance downtime effectively. Typical applications cover power SF6 gas monitoring, air separation high-purity gas detection, natural gas pipeline dehydration monitoring and heat treatment furnace protective gas quality control.
