GE DEWMET-2 is a compact industrial dew point transmitter adopting alumina sensing chip. It delivers 4–20mA loop signal output for continuous trace moisture monitoring of compressed air and various industrial process gas pipelines.

Description

DEWMET-2 belongs to GE Panametrics economical online moisture measurement series, positioned for general dry gas monitoring scenarios, matched with built-in miniature thin-film aluminum oxide sensing element. The sensor reacts to water vapor partial pressure inside gas to generate linear capacitance variation, and the internal microprocessor circuit converts capacitance signals into standard dew point value and volume ppm moisture concentration data.
The measurable dew point coverage ranges from -110°C to +20°C, with typical measurement accuracy controlled within ±2°C under common working intervals. The whole structure adopts integrated probe-transmitter integrated design with small overall volume, supporting direct threaded insertion installation on process pipelines. The front sintered stainless steel filter can block oil mist, dust and liquid droplets in airflow to prevent contamination of the precision alumina chip and extend the service life of the sensing core. The shell reaches IP65 protection grade, internal circuit boards are coated with three-proof conformal coating, stably operating at ambient temperature of -20℃ ~ +60℃ in compressor rooms, workshop pipeline areas and indoor instrument cabinets.
This transmitter adopts two-wire loop power supply mode (7~28VDC supply voltage), only one pair of cables completes power supply and 4–20mA analog signal transmission, greatly simplifying field wiring construction cost. The output signal can be directly connected to PLC, DCS and display instruments to realize real-time moisture data collection and over-limit interlock alarm. Partial specifications support optional RS485 digital communication for centralized data management of multiple measuring points.
With intrinsic safety certification, it can be applied in Zone 2 low-risk hazardous gas environments after being equipped with safety barriers. Each DEWMET-2 is calibrated by NIST-traceable standard moisture gas before factory delivery, with formal calibration documents attached for user filing and third-party inspection acceptance. There are no mechanical moving wearable parts inside the equipment with low long-term failure rate.
Daily maintenance only needs regular inspection of filter clogging status and annual calibration verification. When the sensing performance decays, only the built-in sensor core needs to be replaced instead of the whole transmitter, effectively reducing spare parts cost and equipment shutdown loss. Main application scenarios include factory compressed air system monitoring, adsorption dryer efficiency detection, pharmaceutical clean gas monitoring and air separation unit low dew point supervision.
