GE 64300-MT306 Clamp-On Ultrasonic Liquid Transducer

GE 64300-MT306 is a medium-frequency external clamp-on ultrasonic sensor from GE Panametrics. It matches XMT868, UTX868 and portable 8500 flow meters to implement stable liquid flow detection for conventional industrial pipeline media.

Description

64300 series belongs to the standard matched transducer group of GE 868 series ultrasonic flow measurement platform, MT represents medium temperature resistant structural design, and 306 is the fixed piezoelectric chip frequency and standard shell configuration parameter solidified by the factory. This transducer is used in pairs for transmitting and receiving ultrasonic signals, cooperates with the host’s correlation transit-time algorithm to collect bidirectional sound wave time difference data, and calculates liquid flow velocity, instantaneous flow and accumulated flow.
Built-in high-stability piezoelectric wafer together with optimized acoustic matching layer and damping material effectively reduces ultrasonic energy loss when penetrating pipe walls. It resists signal fluctuation interference caused by slight liquid bubbles, pipeline vibration and inner wall scaling, with stable measurement performance for cooling water, circulating hot water, chilled water and low-viscosity clean process liquid. Compatible with carbon steel, stainless steel, cast iron, PVC, PP and other common metal and non-metal pipeline materials, covering a wide range of conventional pipe diameters matched by the 868 series host.
The transducer outer shell adopts sealed integrated encapsulation structure with IP65 protection grade. The contact surface uses wear-resistant high-density acoustic conduction material to bear long-term clamping pressure from 95C2001, P1392 fixing fixtures without abrasion and deformation. The internal signal wire adopts double-layer copper braided shielding structure to filter electromagnetic noise generated by field pumps, inverters and power distribution cabinets, ensuring high-fidelity transmission of weak ultrasonic signals for a long distance.
Adopting non-intrusive external clamping installation mode, pipeline cutting, drilling and system shutdown are unnecessary during installation and maintenance, bringing zero pressure loss and medium leakage risks to the process pipeline. The standard aviation connector is fully compatible with GE original 710-1247 shielded signal cables. When used with 25998 or 399857 acoustic couplant, the air gap between the transducer and the pipe wall is eliminated to maximize acoustic coupling efficiency. It supports dual application scenarios: long-term online fixed measurement and temporary field flow inspection with portable flow meters.
Each 64300-MT306 passes echo amplitude testing, impedance parameter calibration and continuous power aging screening before factory delivery, with unified frequency and sensitivity parameters for convenient interchangeable replacement during on-site maintenance. No mechanical wearable moving parts are arranged inside the probe body, featuring low failure rate under long-term continuous operation. Daily maintenance work only includes regular inspection of fixture tightening degree, couplant aging failure and cable sheath integrity. Separate replacement of a single faulty probe greatly reduces the overall maintenance cost of the flow measurement system compared with replacing the whole set of measuring equipment.
It is widely applied to HVAC water system energy metering, factory cooling water balance monitoring, municipal water supply and drainage flow statistics and conventional chemical clean liquid pipeline flow measurement projects, being a cost-effective general supporting transducer for GE 868 series ultrasonic flow measurement systems.
