GE MMS35-142-1-100 Alumina Insertion Dew Point Moisture Probe
GE MMS35-142-1-100 is an industrial alumina dew point sensor probe matched with MTS5 series transmitters. It detects trace moisture inside pressurized process gas and transfers capacitance signals for long-term online gas quality monitoringManualsLib
Description
MMS35 is GE Panametrics mature thin-film aluminum oxide probe series for gas moisture measurement. Breakdown of model coding: 142 defines insertion depth, standard threaded process connection and single-layer sintered stainless steel filter structure; digit 1 stands for built-in integrated NTC temperature sensor for real-time gas temperature collection and algorithm compensation; 100 is factory original standard calibration curve parameters calibrated with NIST-traceable standard moisture gas sourcesManualsLib. Matched perfectly with MTS5-321-10, MTS5-351-1S and other MTS5 host transmitters to build a complete gas dew point monitoring system.
The core sensing component adopts high-stability alumina wafer structure. Water molecules penetrate the surface gold film and are adsorbed on the alumina porous layer, generating linear capacitance variation corresponding to water vapor partial pressure. The host converts the capacitance signal into intuitive dew point value, frost point value and ppm moisture concentration data. The effective measurement range covers -110℃ ~ +60℃ dew point, with measurement accuracy controlled within ±2℃ in conventional working intervals, meeting the monitoring demands of ultra-dry compressed air, nitrogen, hydrogen, natural gas and SF6 insulating gas in power, air separation, petrochemical and pharmaceutical industries.
All wetted parts are made of seamless welded 316 stainless steel, bearing stable high working pressure to adapt to high-pressure process pipeline operating conditions. The front sintered metal filter effectively blocks solid particles, oil mist and liquid droplets in airflow to prevent contamination and corrosion of the fragile alumina chip, greatly extending the service life of the sensing core. The whole probe body adopts fully sealed epoxy potting treatment, with excellent moisture-proof, splash-proof and weak chemical corrosion resistance, suitable for installation environments such as compressor stations, outdoor sampling pipelines and chemical analysis instrument cabinets.
Internal signal cables are wrapped with dense copper braided shielding layer, which effectively suppresses electromagnetic interference from on-site compressors, frequency converters and power distribution equipment to guarantee stable long-distance transmission of weak sensor signals. The tail adopts general aviation plug structure, supporting plug-and-play connection with dedicated signal cables, maintenance personnel can complete disassembly, replacement and field calibration without modifying the original system wiring layout, lowering field operation difficulty and maintenance downtimeManualsLib.
This probe has obtained ATEX intrinsic safety certification. When paired with qualified safety barriers, it can be safely deployed in Zone 1 and Zone 2 flammable and explosive hazardous areas of chemical plants and refineries. Each finished probe undergoes strict zero-point and span calibration before factory delivery, with official calibration reports provided for user file management and third-party metering inspection acceptance. There are no mechanical wearing moving parts inside the probe assembly, possessing low failure rate under 24-hour uninterrupted long-term operation.
Daily routine maintenance only needs periodic inspection for filter clogging status and annual whole-set system calibration verification. When sensing performance declines, users only need to replace the internal sensing chip instead of the whole probe, reducing enterprise spare parts reserve cost and equipment shutdown loss. Typical application scenarios include power station SF6 electrical equipment moisture monitoring, air separation high-purity gas quality control, natural gas pipeline dehydration efficiency detection and heat treatment furnace protective atmosphere monitoring.
