GE MTS5-351-1S Dew Point Analysis Transmitter

GE MTS5-351-1S is a panel-mounted dew point transmitter matching MMS series alumina probes. It converts probe capacitance signals into standard industrial signals to realize long-term trace moisture online monitoring for pressurized process gas.

Description

GE MTS5 series is the upgraded generation of industrial dew point transmitters derived from the classic MTS35 platform, dedicated to cooperating with GE MMS35, MMS3 series insertion alumina moisture probes to build a complete gas moisture detection system. Each segment of the model code corresponds to fixed configuration parameters: MTS5 stands for the fifth-generation main control circuit platform; 351 represents DIN standard panel installation structure and basic signal conditioning circuit; 1S signifies single-channel measurement input + single group isolated signal output layout.
The internal high-precision signal conditioning chip processes the weak capacitance signal fed back by the alumina sensing chip, combined with the temperature compensation data uploaded by the probe built-in thermistor to automatically eliminate measurement deviation caused by gas temperature changes. The measurable dew point range covers -110°C ~ +60°C, with high measurement stability for ultra-dry compressed air, nitrogen, hydrogen, natural gas, SF6 insulating gas and heat treatment shielding gas widely used in power, chemical, air separation and pharmaceutical industries.
The overall structure adopts compact DIN embedded panel installation design, which can be quickly installed on standard cabinet guide rails of the analysis instrument cabinet. The front LCD screen displays real-time dew point value, ppm moisture content and probe operating status locally, with supporting button operation to complete range calibration, alarm threshold setting and system self-check without external configuration software. The internal circuit board is sprayed with three-proof conformal coating, resisting moisture, dust and slight corrosive gas erosion, and can operate continuously and stably in the ambient temperature range of -20°C ~ +60°C.
This transmitter is equipped with isolated 4–20mA analog output and optional RS485 Modbus communication interface. The detected moisture data can be uploaded to DCS, PLC and SCADA centralized control system to realize remote data recording, trend storage and high/low dew point interlock alarm protection. The built-in intelligent self-diagnosis function can timely feed back abnormal states such as probe open circuit, signal attenuation and circuit failure through fault codes, greatly reducing the difficulty of field troubleshooting for maintenance personnel.
With intrinsic safety certification conforming to ATEX specifications, the equipment can be deployed in Zone 1 and Zone 2 flammable and explosive hazardous areas after being matched with certified safety barriers. Standard unified wiring terminals are convenient for docking with the probe dedicated shielded cable, and the plug-and-play wiring mode shortens the equipment installation and debugging cycle. Every MTS5-351-1S is calibrated with NIST traceable standard moisture gas source before leaving the factory, and complete official calibration documents are provided for user filing and third-party metering inspection.
There are no mechanical wearing components inside the transmitter body, with low failure rate under long-term uninterrupted operation. Daily routine maintenance only needs regular cleaning of the display surface dust and annual regular calibration inspection of the whole system. When the matched MMS series probe sensing performance declines, only the probe core needs to be replaced instead of the whole transmitter, effectively saving the enterprise’s spare parts reserve cost and equipment maintenance downtime loss. It is widely used in power station SF6 gas insulation monitoring, air separation high-purity gas quality detection, chemical pipeline dehydration effect monitoring and food and pharmaceutical clean gas management.
