GE P1347 General Purpose Clamp-On Ultrasonic Transducer
GE P1347 is a standard external clamp-on ultrasonic sensor from GE Panametrics. It matches XMT868, UTX868, portable 8500 flow meters for conventional clean liquid pipeline measurement with stable acoustic transmission and robust sealed housing design.
Description
GE P1347 belongs to the mainstream universal transducer lineup supporting the 868 series ultrasonic flow measurement hosts. Designed with medium-frequency piezoelectric wafer, it balances ultrasonic penetration capability and signal response speed, applicable to carbon steel, stainless steel, cast iron, PVC and other common industrial pipeline materials for chilled water, cooling water, domestic circulating water and low-viscosity clean process fluids.
The internal acoustic matching layer and damping structure are strictly calibrated to match pipeline acoustic impedance, lowering ultrasonic energy loss when penetrating pipe walls and forming stable upstream and downstream echo signals. It effectively resists minor measurement interference caused by pipeline slight vibration and weak liquid turbulence, ensuring steady data output under most ordinary factory measurement working conditions.
The transducer contact surface adopts wear-resistant composite material, enduring long-term clamping pressure from 95C2001 and P1392 mounting fixtures without scratch or deformation. The fully encapsulated sealed shell reaches IP65 protection grade, preventing dust accumulation, condensate splashing and mild corrosive gas erosion inside pump rooms, pipe trenches and indoor instrument cabinets. Double-layer copper braided shielding wire inside the probe suppresses electromagnetic noise from water pumps, low-power inverters and power distribution cabinets on site.
Adopting non-intrusive external clamping installation mode, no pipeline cutting, drilling or system shutdown is required during installation and maintenance, producing zero pipeline pressure loss and medium contamination risks. The standard aviation connector is fully compatible with GE original 710-1247 shielded signal cables, paired with 25998 or 399857-PR acoustic couplant to eliminate air gaps and optimize sound conduction efficiency. It supports dual usage scenarios: long-term online fixed measurement and temporary field flow inspection with the 8500 portable flowmeter.
Each P1347 undergoes echo amplitude testing, impedance parameter calibration and continuous power aging screening before factory delivery, with unified frequency and sensitivity parameters for spare part interchangeability during field replacement. No mechanical wearing components are built into the probe body with low natural failure rate during long-term continuous operation. Daily maintenance work only includes regular inspection of fixture tightness, couplant aging status and cable sheath integrity, requiring low labor and spare parts investment for enterprise operation management.
This transducer is widely deployed in HVAC water system metering, factory cooling water monitoring, municipal water supply pipeline statistics and general chemical clean liquid flow measurement projects, serving as a cost-effective standard matching probe for conventional industrial liquid ultrasonic metering systems.
