GE DigitalFlow GC868 Clamp-On Ultrasonic Gas Flow Transmitter

GE GC868 is a non-intrusive external clamp-on ultrasonic gas flow host developed by GE Panametrics. Adopting patented correlation transit-time algorithm, it matches dedicated gas clamp-on probes to measure air, natural gas, steam and corrosive gas without pipeline drilling or shutdown operation

Description

GC868 belongs to GE 868 series gas ultrasonic measurement platform, positioned for general industrial gas clamp-on measurement, different from AT868 insertion type and GF868 flare gas mass measurement host. It supports single-channel or dual-channel signal acquisition, cooperates with special gas ultrasonic clamp-on sensors to receive upstream and downstream ultrasonic time difference signals, and calculates gas flow velocity, volume flow, total flow and compensated mass flow through internal high-speed digital signal processing chip.
The core adopts proprietary Correlation Transit-Time measurement technology, effectively overcoming signal attenuation caused by gas turbulence, pressure pulsation and pipeline wall reflection. The measurement accuracy reaches ±2% of reading, with ultra-wide turndown ratio to adapt to large flow fluctuation conditions. The equipment is equipped with built-in steam super-compressibility compensation algorithm. After accessing real-time pipeline pressure and temperature signals via analog input terminals, it can automatically calculate steam mass flow, and the applicable medium temperature is up to 230°C, covering saturated steam and superheated steam measurement scenarios.
Applicable pipe diameter ranges from DN20 to DN600, compatible with carbon steel, stainless steel, copper and plastic pipes. The clamp-on installation mode will not cause pipeline pressure loss, and can be installed and maintained under normal operation of the process pipeline, which is very suitable for toxic, corrosive, high-purity and sterile gas pipeline measurement occasions where pipeline opening is prohibitedBaker Hugh.... The host shell has standard plastic shell and optional stainless steel / explosion-proof shell, with IP65 protection grade; the internal circuit board is coated with three-proof paint, stably operating in the ambient temperature range of -20℃ ~ +60℃ in compressor rooms, chemical workshops and outdoor pipe areas.
The front panel is equipped with LCD display and physical membrane keyboard, supporting local setting of pipe parameters, gas type, probe parameters and alarm threshold values. Real-time flow rate, accumulated flow, sound speed value and equipment fault codes can be displayed locally. Standard isolated 4–20mA analog output, relay alarm output and RS485 Modbus communication interface are reserved inside the machine, which can upload measurement data to DCS, PLC and SCADA systems to realize remote monitoring, data recording and over-limit interlock controlManualsLib.
The internal power module has complete surge, overvoltage and short-circuit protection functions to resist power grid abnormal impact. It is matched with GE special shielded signal cables and probe fixing fixtures to form a complete closed-loop gas flow measurement system. Each GC868 passes flow bench calibration, long-term aging test and electrical safety detection before leaving the factory, with complete test reports attached. There are no mechanical moving wearing parts inside the host, with low failure rate during long-term continuous operation. Daily maintenance only needs regular inspection of probe clamping fastening state, coupling layer integrity and wiring terminal tightness; each functional board can be replaced independently during maintenance to reduce equipment downtime and maintenance costs.
It is widely used in factory compressed air pipe network metering, heating steam pipeline measurement, natural gas transmission metering, chemical process gas monitoring, metallurgical protective gas flow control and other industrial gas measurement projects, being a mainstream non-invasive gas flow measurement host in the Panametrics product line.
