GE UTX878-1-11-0000-1 Ultrasonic Liquid Flow Transmitter
GE UTX878-1-11-0000-1 is a wall-mounted transit-time ultrasonic flow transmitter from GE Panametrics. It matches M-series clamp-on probes to perform steady liquid flow calculation, signal processing and data output for industrial pipeline measurement systems.
Description
GE UTX878 series is a mature fixed online ultrasonic flow host platform for liquid medium measurement, and UTX878-1-11-0000-1 is a complete configuration version defined by factory coding rules. Each code segment corresponds to power specification, enclosure grade, communication configuration, output channel and explosion-proof grade respectively. The device works with M27R, M2LRZ, 36DL, EHC-09 and other clamp-on ultrasonic transducers, receiving original echo signals and relying on built-in DRC-100X signal processing board to calculate fluid velocity, instantaneous flow rate and total accumulated flow volume.
The internal high-speed digital signal processing module optimizes echo recognition algorithm, effectively filters measurement noise brought by pipeline vibration, medium turbulence and pipe wall scaling. It maintains stable measurement data output for ordinary water pipelines, scaled old pipelines and slightly noisy industrial piping environments. The main unit is equipped with the 712-1024 LCD display assembly and physical operation keys, supporting local parameter configuration of pipe material, pipe diameter, medium property and probe frequency, meanwhile displaying real-time flow data, signal quality value and system fault alarm information on site directly.
This transmitter is equipped with standard isolated 4–20mA analog output and optional RS485 Modbus communication interface. Measured flow data can be uploaded to DCS, PLC and SCADA centralized control system to realize remote monitoring, data recording and over-limit interlock protection. The internal power module adopts the 703-1610-00 dedicated power supply board, built-in surge, overcurrent and short-circuit protection circuits to prevent internal core boards from being burned out by grid fluctuation and instantaneous voltage surge on site. The circuit board surface adopts three-proof coating treatment, adapting to the temperature range of -20℃ ~ +60℃ in humid pump rooms, pipe galleries and indoor instrument cabinets.
The shell structure of this model meets industrial dustproof and waterproof standards. When matched with intrinsic safety safety barriers, it can be applied in non-explosion hazardous industrial areas for long-term continuous operation. The host reserves standard wiring terminals for connecting 710-1247 shielded transducer signal cables, with standardized wiring definition to reduce wiring errors during field installation and maintenance. Cooperated with 95C2001 mounting fixtures and 25998 / 399857-PR coupling grease, a complete closed-loop ultrasonic flow measurement system is constructed.
Each finished UTX878-1-11-0000-1 undergoes flow calibration bench testing, continuous aging operation test and communication function verification before factory delivery, with consistent operation performance among individual units and good interchangeability of spare parts. There are no mechanical moving consumable parts inside the transmitter body. Daily maintenance mainly includes regular cleaning of display surface dust, checking the fastening state of wiring terminals and regular inspection of probe matching working status. Fault replacement of internal power board, display module and signal processing board can be completed separately without replacing the whole host, effectively reducing the maintenance cost of on-site measurement equipment.
It is widely used in municipal water supply and drainage metering, thermal power circulating water monitoring, central heating medium flow statistics, factory cooling water system measurement and general chemical low-viscosity process liquid flow monitoring scenarios, serving as the core control host for most conventional clamp-on ultrasonic flow measurement projects.
