GE EHC-09 High Temperature Buffer Ultrasonic Clamp-On Transducer
GE EHC-09 is a waveguide buffered ultrasonic sensor from GE Panametrics, designed for high-temperature industrial liquid pipelines. It isolates piezoelectric chips from high heat to maintain stable ultrasonic signal transmission, matching XMT868, UTX868 and GF868 measurement hosts.
Description
GE EHC-09 belongs to the EHC series heat-isolated ultrasonic probe product line, compatible with the full set of GE ultrasonic flow measurement systems we sorted previously. EHC represents Elevated Heat Control buffer structure, 09 stands for standardized waveguide length and high-temperature resistant structural parameters. It solves the failure problem of ordinary probes when measuring high-temperature media such as high-temperature hot water, heat conduction oil and steam condensate, and is an essential sensing component for non-intrusive high-temperature flow monitoring.
The core is equipped with a solid stainless steel waveguide buffer rod. The metal waveguide effectively blocks heat conduction from the hot pipe wall to the internal piezoelectric sensitive wafer, so that the electronic components inside the transducer always work within a safe temperature range even when the pipeline surface temperature reaches up to 260°C. The internal piezoelectric crystal is modified with high-temperature stable formula, matched with professional acoustic damping and impedance matching materials, which effectively reduces ultrasonic energy loss during waveguide propagation and ensures complete and stable echo signals under long-term thermal working conditions.
The probe contact surface uses wear-resistant high-strength composite material, which can bear the long-term clamping force of 95C2001 mounting fixtures without deformation and abrasion. The overall sealed shell meets IP65 protection grade, with good resistance to condensate splash, workshop dust and weak chemical volatile corrosion in thermal power pipe galleries, heating pipe networks and chemical heat exchange workshops. The built-in double-layer copper braided shielding wire restrains electromagnetic interference from on-site frequency converters, circulating pumps and power distribution equipment, avoiding flow value drift and waveform distortion in complex industrial electromagnetic environments.
It adopts external clamp-on installation mode, no pipeline cutting, drilling or system shutdown is required during installation and maintenance, and will not cause medium pollution and pipeline pressure loss. The tail aviation connector is perfectly adapted to 710-1247 original shielded signal cables, and combined with 399857-PR or 25998 couplant to fill the contact gap, realizing efficient ultrasonic wave coupling conduction. It can be matched with portable 8500 flow meters for temporary high-temperature pipeline flow inspection, and also supports long-term online measurement with fixed transmitters.
Each EHC-09 transducer passes ultrasonic echo detection, high-temperature aging test and impedance parameter calibration before factory delivery to ensure consistent working performance of each batch of products. There are no mechanical wearing consumables inside the probe assembly. Daily maintenance only needs to regularly check the scaling on the waveguide surface, the fastening state of the fixture and the integrity of the cable sheath. Wiping the waveguide and replacing the aging couplant can quickly restore measurement stability with low maintenance cost.
It is widely used in thermal power plant high-temperature circulating water pipelines, central heating heat medium pipe networks, petrochemical heat exchange fluid delivery pipelines, textile printing and dyeing high-temperature water systems and other high-temperature working condition flow measurement scenarios, greatly expanding the temperature application range of GE clamp-on ultrasonic flow measurement solutions.
