GE 25998 Ultrasonic Transducer Standard Couplant Tube Package
GE 25998 is original factory acoustic couplant grease packaged for GE clamp-on ultrasonic sensors. It fills air gaps between probes and pipe surfaces to guarantee stable ultrasonic signal transmission for industrial flow metering systems.
Description
GE 25998 is a standard bulk packaged acoustic coupling consumable launched by GE Panametrics, matching the full series of clamp-on ultrasonic transducers such as M2LRZ, M9LW, 1200HR, CRV-05-MB, and supporting XMT868, UTX878, AT868 flow transmitter systems together with mounting fixtures P1392 and hardware kit 7168. This couplant is an indispensable medium for external ultrasonic measurement; air gaps between the transducer contact surface and pipeline outer wall will reflect ultrasonic waves severely, causing weak echo signals, measurement fluctuation or meter failure.
This coupling medium adopts modified silicone polymer base formula with acoustic impedance well matched with carbon steel, stainless steel, cast iron and plastic pipeline outer walls. It maintains stable viscosity within a wide working temperature range from -40°C to 200°C, adapting to normal temperature water pipelines and high-temperature heat medium pipelines. Long-term thermal radiation from hot pipes will not lead to thinning, dripping or carbonization of the couplant, greatly lowering the frequency of repeated refilling work for field maintenance staff.
The material features excellent water resistance and anti-washout performance. Condensed water, splashing cooling water and humid air inside pump rooms and outdoor pipe racks cannot dilute or wash away the coupling layer, sustaining efficient ultrasonic transmission during long-term continuous flow monitoring. Chemically inert properties prevent corrosion to transducer protective panels and pipeline anti-rust coatings, with good compatibility with all GE original probe installation structures.
The product adopts sealed tube packaging to effectively avoid volatilization and deterioration during spare parts storage and field carrying. During instrument installation and regular maintenance, users only need to wipe off aged dried couplant and evenly coat GE 25998 on the probe coupling face to restore normal signal acquisition performance of the ultrasonic flow meter, and the whole operation needs no pipeline shutdown. Each batch of this couplant passes acoustic attenuation testing before factory delivery to ensure uniform sound conduction performance of each product batch.
No wearable internal composition exists in the couplant itself. Routine system maintenance only requires periodic inspection of couplant aging status and supplementary coating according to the on-site environment. Using official original 25998 couplant can effectively reduce flow data deviation faults caused by poor signal coupling, cut unplanned instrument inspection workload, and lower the overall operation and maintenance cost of industrial online flow monitoring equipment. It is widely applied in municipal water supply metering, thermal power circulating water monitoring, petrochemical process fluid measurement and energy balance metering projects.
