Description
GE CRV-05-MB belongs to the extended temperature waveguide transducer series matching DigitalFlow XMT868, UTX878 and AT868 ultrasonic flow transmitters. CRV represents waveguide buffer structure, 05 stands for standard buffer length specification, MB means metal sealed threaded connector configuration. This component solves the temperature over-limit failure problem of ordinary clamp-on probes when measuring high-temperature medium pipelines, separating the vulnerable piezoelectric crystal from hot pipe walls via solid metal waveguide to realize long-term reliable measurement.
The core waveguide body is forged from high-purity stainless steel with stable acoustic transmission characteristics. It efficiently conducts ultrasonic signals while blocking high-temperature heat conduction to the internal sensing wafer, allowing the transducer core to work within a safe ambient temperature range even when the pipeline surface temperature reaches up to 250°C. The internal piezoelectric wafer adopts high-temperature stabilized piezoelectric material, matched with professional acoustic damping layers and impedance calibration circuits to reduce ultrasonic energy loss during waveguide transmission and maintain high signal-to-noise ratio echo feedback.
The tail part adopts MB metal threaded sealed interface, which is stably connected with GE original shielded signal cables such as 710-1247 and PWO6J8-4S. The internal multi-layer copper braided shielding structure restrains electromagnetic interference from field frequency converters, high-power motors and power distribution loops, preventing flow value fluctuation and waveform distortion in complex industrial electromagnetic environments. The overall shell is fully sealed with high-temperature resistant potting glue, with excellent waterproof, oil-proof and anti-condensation performance for humid pump rooms, thermal pipe galleries and chemical high-temperature process areas.
Cooperated with P1392 and GE 7168 mounting hardware kits, the CRV-05-MB can be firmly clamped on carbon steel, stainless steel and alloy high-temperature pipelines, cooperating with 399857-PR coupling gel to form a complete non-intrusive high-temperature flow measurement system. No pipeline cutting, drilling or system shutdown is required during installation and maintenance, bringing zero pressure loss and zero medium pollution risks to closed production processes.
Each CRV-05-MB undergoes ultrasonic echo testing, high-temperature aging screening and tightness inspection before factory delivery, with unified frequency and sensitivity parameters for each batch. There are no wearable moving parts inside the assembly. Daily maintenance only needs regular inspection of buffer surface scaling condition, fixture fastening tightness and cable sheath integrity. When the waveguide surface accumulates dirt affecting signal transmission, simple wiping and re-coating couplant can restore normal measuring performance.
Typical application scenarios include thermal power plant high-temperature circulating water, central heating hot medium pipelines, chemical heat exchange fluid delivery, petrochemical high-temperature process water and textile printing & dyeing heat medium flow monitoring. It greatly expands the applicable temperature range of GE clamp-on ultrasonic metering systems and reduces the failure rate of sensing components under harsh thermal working conditions.
