Description

GE HygroPro series is GE Panametrics mature polymer capacitive humidity detection product line, and HygroPro-1-2-W-4-0-0-0-S is a fixed full configuration model defined by internal coding rules. Each segment of the model corresponds to installation form, probe length, wetted material, measuring range, output mode, display option, electrical connection and shell protection grade respectively. This transmitter integrates sensing probe and main transmitter body as one piece, aiming at continuous online monitoring of relative humidity and calculated dew point value inside dry compressed air systems, packaging equipment, drying processes and general industrial process gas pipelines.
The core measurement element adopts high-stability modified polymer capacitive sensing chip. The dielectric constant of the polymer film changes linearly along with the water vapor partial pressure in the surrounding gas. Built-in high-precision platinum resistance temperature sensor synchronously collects medium temperature data, and the internal MCU operates built-in algorithms to automatically calculate real dew point value, realizing synchronous output of three measurement parameters: relative humidity, medium temperature and dew point. The sensing chip has good self-recovery capability after slight condensation contamination, avoiding permanent sensing failure caused by accidental liquid water contact on site.
The wetted component of the probe uses stainless steel material matching the model code, fitted with a sintered stainless steel protective filter head. The filter can block tiny dust particles, oil mist and pipeline aerosol pollutants in compressed air, effectively preventing the sensitive film from being contaminated and slowed in response speed, and greatly extending the service cycle of the sensing core. The overall probe structure adopts fully sealed process, suitable for long-term operation in humid compressor rooms, factory gas pipelines and workshop drying equipment exhaust pipelines.
This transmitter adopts standard two-wire 4–20mA loop power supply design. A single pair of cables completes both power supply input and measurement signal transmission, which greatly simplifies field wiring workload and reduces cable laying cost. The 4–20mA signal is linearly mapped to full-scale humidity or dew point range, which can be directly connected to DCS, PLC and secondary display instruments to realize remote data viewing and over-limit alarm interlock setting. The optional local display function supports on-site staff to check real-time measurement data without additional detection tools.
The transmitter housing reaches high-level environmental protection performance, resisting dust invasion and condensate splash erosion. The internal circuit board is coated with moisture-proof protective paint, adapting to the ambient temperature fluctuation of industrial instrument installation areas. The overall structure supports direct pipeline threaded installation without complicated sampling auxiliary parts, featuring simple installation and low commissioning difficulty. Every finished HygroPro-1-2-W-4-0-0-0-S undergoes humidity calibration and temperature compensation correction with standard humidity generating equipment before factory delivery to guarantee measurement accuracy consistency.
The product has no mechanical moving parts, so the failure rate during long-term continuous operation is low. Daily maintenance only needs regular inspection of the filter for blockage and annual calibration verification according to the cleanliness of the on-site gas medium. It is widely used in food drying production lines, pharmaceutical clean compressed air systems, electronics factory dry gas protection, industrial furnace atmosphere monitoring and pneumatic system gas quality detection scenarios, providing reliable humidity monitoring data for production process quality control.
