GE 7168 Ultrasonic Transducer Mounting Hardware Kit
GE 7168 is an original complete set of installation hardware for GE clamp-on ultrasonic sensors. It cooperates with P1392 clamps to fix flow probes firmly on pipeline outer walls, featuring corrosion resistance and anti-loosening performance for long-term industrial flow measurement deployment.
Description
GE 7168 is a matched accessory package launched by GE Panametrics for the full range of external clamp-on ultrasonic transducers including M9LW and 1200HR. This kit contains high-strength bolts, spring lock washers, flat gaskets, positioning limit shims and anti-corrosion fastening parts required for transducer assembly and clamping installation. All parts are customized according to the dimensional tolerance standards of original fixtures such as P1392, realizing seamless assembly without dimensional mismatch during field construction.
All metal fasteners are treated with hot-dip galvanizing and surface passivation, effectively resisting rust caused by outdoor rainwater, pipeline condensate, humid pump room air and weak chemical volatile gas erosion. The matched elastic washers can continuously provide pre-tightening force for bolt connections, solving the problem of bolt loosening induced by long-term pipeline medium pulsation and mechanical vibration, which avoids ultrasonic signal deviation and flow data drift resulting from probe displacement.
The included positioning shims are made of wear-resistant polymer material. They adjust the fitting clearance between the transducer coupling surface and the pipeline outer wall reasonably, maintain uniform contact of couplant gel such as 399857-PR, reduce ultrasonic transmission loss and improve the stability of echo signals. The complete set of parts is classified and packaged in a sealed storage box, convenient for maintenance personnel to carry and store spare parts on site, avoiding the loss of scattered small hardware during instrument installation and overhaul.
This hardware kit is fully compatible with XMT868, UTX878, AT868 ultrasonic flow meter systems applied to municipal water pipelines, thermal heating medium pipes and petrochemical low-viscosity fluid pipelines. The overall installation process does not require cutting pipelines or stopping production, matching the non-intrusive measurement advantages of clamp-on sensors. Each batch of GE 7168 hardware assemblies undergoes tensile strength and anti-corrosion testing before factory delivery to guarantee mechanical stability under long-term harsh working conditions.
There are no consumable vulnerable components in the hardware combination itself. Daily maintenance only needs to check the fastening degree of the bolts regularly and replace aging washers individually when necessary, lowering the overall maintenance input of the flow metering system. It serves as essential auxiliary hardware to guarantee the long-term stable operation of industrial ultrasonic flow monitoring equipment in chemical plants, power plants and water supply enterprises.
