GE Ni2 M-Series Alumina Trace Moisture Sensor Cartridge

GE Ni2 is a nickel-based alumina sensitive core cartridge for GE MS series dew point probes, serving as the core moisture sensing medium to detect trace water vapor in industrial process gas with stable capacitance response and long service life.

Description

GE Ni2 is the built-in sensitive filler component matched for GE MS29, MS32 alumina moisture probes under Panametrics gas analysis system. The code Ni2 stands for nickel substrate coated thin-film aluminum oxide sensing structure, which is the core functional medium responsible for capturing water molecules in gas to produce regular capacitance changes, and the host analyzer converts capacitance signals into dew point and ppm moisture values.
The sensing structure adopts high-purity nickel carrier as the substrate. The surface is plated with uniform nano-scale alumina film by precision coating technology. Nickel substrate features good thermal conductivity and stable chemical inertness, resisting slight acid and alkaline impurities in process gas, effectively slowing down the aging and failure speed of the alumina film layer. Compared with ordinary base materials, nickel matrix can maintain stable adsorption and desorption efficiency of water molecules under long-term high-low temperature alternating working conditions, reduce measurement drift and hysteresis error, and extend the overall calibration retention cycle of the probe.
It is sealed and encapsulated inside the stainless steel probe body, and cooperates with the front sintered metal filter to block oil mist, solid particles and condensate in the pipeline from directly impacting the Ni2 sensitive layer. It is widely used in moisture monitoring scenarios such as natural gas gathering pipelines, flare gas pipelines, dry compressed air systems, hydrogen production equipment and semiconductor process protective gas pipelines.
Each batch of Ni2 sensing cartridges is subjected to strict dew point calibration matching before factory assembly, ensuring consistent response sensitivity of each probe after assembly. In daily equipment operation, the failure of MS series probes is mostly caused by the attenuation of the internal Ni2 sensitive layer; users can replace the Ni2 cartridge separately instead of replacing the whole probe, greatly reducing enterprise spare parts procurement cost.
The product has good pressure resistance and temperature resistance, adapting to high-pressure pipeline insertion measurement and outdoor pipe gallery variable temperature environment. It matches perfectly with MTS6 series dew point analyzers, Moisture.IQ hosts and HygroPro transmitters to form a complete industrial online trace moisture monitoring system. Only regular annual calibration inspection is required for maintenance, with low daily maintenance workload and high comprehensive economy for long-term industrial use.
