GE 703-1294-03 Multi-Step Ultrasonic Calibration Reference Block
GE 703-1294-03 is a factory-certified multi-step standard calibration block for GE ultrasonic testing equipment, used for thickness linearity correction, echo calibration and probe performance verification to guarantee accurate industrial NDT measurement data.
Description
GE 703-1294-03 belongs to GE Panametrics official 703 series calibration standard sample, fully compatible with Epoch series flaw detectors, 1200M thickness gauges and all matched GE ultrasonic probes. The suffix code 03 represents three groups of standard stepped thickness structures preset on the workpiece surface for graded calibration of different measurement ranges. The block blank is made of high-purity homogeneous carbon steel processed by high-precision CNC machining, with strict tolerance control for each step thickness, bottom hole depth and geometric dimension, maintaining stable ultrasonic propagation speed and fixed echo response value for long-term use.
This calibration block supports multiple routine calibration items for field inspection work: ultrasonic instrument zero drift correction, gain sensitivity adjustment, thickness measurement linearity verification, DAC curve drawing and wedge delay calibration for angle probes. It effectively eliminates systematic errors caused by equipment aging, probe surface wear, couplant differences and environmental temperature changes during pipeline wall thickness measurement, corrosion detection and workpiece flaw inspection. The metal surface adopts precision grinding plus anti-rust passivation treatment to prevent surface oxidation rust from interfering with ultrasonic wave penetration and reflection effect.
The integrated solid steel structure has excellent shock resistance and deformation resistance. Even if collided or dropped accidentally in workshops, outdoor pipe racks and field detection sites, the internal geometric size and acoustic characteristics will not deviate. It is applicable to the calibration work of straight beam probes, angle beam probes and dual-element probes, covering detection calibration requirements of petrochemical pipelines, power station boilers, pressure vessels, mechanical castings and steel structural components.
Compared with ordinary market calibration blocks, its internal acoustic attenuation coefficient is highly matched with carbon steel workpieces commonly used in industry. The calibrated parameters can be directly applied to actual detection without secondary correction, greatly improving the authenticity of detection data. Each finished product is attached with an original factory calibration certificate traceable to NIST measurement standards, meeting the data traceability management requirements of third-party testing institutions and enterprise quality control systems.
Daily maintenance is extremely convenient. After each use, wipe the residual couplant and metal debris on the surface, and coat a thin layer of anti-rust grease for sealed storage. There are no consumable components inside the block body with ultra-long service life and low overall use cost. It is essential standard supporting equipment for NDT laboratories, chemical inspection departments and power safety testing teams to keep ultrasonic testing systems operating stably for a long time.
