GE 710-1158 Industrial Ultrasonic Dual Element Thickness Probe

GE 710-1158 is an original dual crystal ultrasonic probe matched with GE thickness gauges and flaw detectors, dedicated to wall thickness measurement and corrosion inspection of thin-walled metal parts with high resolution and stable echo signals.

Description

GE 710-1158 belongs to GE Panametrics 710 series standard NDT transducer, perfectly compatible with GE 1200M thickness gauge, Epoch IIB and other portable ultrasonic testing instruments. It adopts independent transmitting and receiving dual wafer design with built-in delay layer structure, effectively eliminating near-surface blind area interference, and realizing accurate thickness reading for thin steel plates, pipeline inner wall corrosion layers and coated metal workpieces that single-element probes cannot detect precisely.
The piezoelectric chip adopts high-frequency precision ceramic material with matched acoustic impedance. It delivers focused ultrasonic beams to capture tiny thickness changes caused by internal corrosion, pitting and wall thinning of pressure pipelines, boiler tubes, storage tanks and heat exchange equipment. The contact surface is equipped with high wear-resistant protective wear plate, resisting long-term friction from rough workpiece surfaces and chemical erosion from ultrasonic coupling agents, cutting fluids and industrial oil stains in workshop and field inspection environments.
The probe shell is made of impact-resistant high-strength engineering plastic with integrated sealed structure, featuring good dustproof, moisture-proof and anti-drop performance to adapt to high-altitude pipeline inspection, confined space detection and outdoor harsh working conditions. The built-in internal wire adopts shielding structure, which suppresses waveform clutter and signal attenuation induced by surrounding welding machines, inverters and high-power distribution equipment on industrial sites, ensuring stable and repeatable measurement data output.
It is equipped with GE standard original locking connector, realizing plug-and-play connection with testing equipment without extra adapters or parameter recalibration after replacement. Each 710-1158 probe passes strict acoustic performance calibration with NIST traceable standard test blocks before factory delivery, ensuring consistent sensitivity and linearity among batches of products.
In actual industrial application scenarios, this probe is widely used in regular safety detection for petrochemical pipelines, power station boiler facilities, mechanical pressure vessels and ship hull structures. Daily maintenance only needs regular cleaning of the probe contact surface and plug terminals, with no easily damaged consumable parts inside the probe body and extremely low long-term maintenance cost. It is a general-purpose original spare probe commonly equipped by enterprise quality inspection departments and third-party nondestructive testing institutions for long-term corrosion monitoring and wall thickness assessment work.
