GE MTS6-321-0 Ultrasonic Transit-Time Flow Sensor
GE MTS6-321-0 is an original paired transducer for Panametrics flow meters, delivering steady ultrasonic signal transmission for liquid and gas pipeline flow measurement under harsh industrial conditions.
Description
GE MTS6-321-0 belongs to GE Panametrics MTS series ultrasonic transducer portfolio, designed to work cooperatively with GF868, DigitalFlow XMT868i and other mainstream ultrasonic flow meter hosts. The model coding represents fixed structural and electrical parameters: MTS6 is the standardized sensor series; 321 stands for resonant frequency, wafer size and installation thread specification; the trailing digit 0 refers to standard housing material and basic wiring configuration without customized auxiliary structures.
The core piezoelectric wafer adopts high-stability ceramic material with optimized acoustic impedance matching design. It converts electrical excitation signals into directional ultrasonic beams and receives reflected or transmitted sound waves from the measured medium. Based on the transit-time difference principle, the host calculates medium flow velocity accurately. The sensor supports measurement of flare gas, natural gas, process water and low-viscosity industrial liquids, adapting to single-phase flowing media in process pipelines of petrochemical plants, power stations and gas transportation stations.
The medium contact shell is constructed with 316 stainless steel, featuring outstanding resistance to general corrosion, condensate and trace chemical impurities in pipelines. The front sound-emitting surface is processed with precise finish to reduce ultrasonic attenuation during wave emission. The whole body adopts fully sealed packaging technology, reaching reliable waterproof and dustproof performance to cope with outdoor pipe gallery, humid workshop and high-dust industrial environments. Built-in simple temperature sensing element provides basic temperature compensation data for the flowmeter host to revise measurement errors caused by medium temperature variation.
The internal signal lead uses shielded wiring layout, which effectively filters electromagnetic interference from nearby compressors, frequency converters and high-power electrical equipment. Standard industrial sealed connectors are equipped at the cable outlet to prevent moisture and dirt from invading internal electronic components during long-term field operation. It is installed in a clamp-on or insertion mode according to on-site pipeline requirements; clamp-on installation does not need pipeline cutting, avoiding process shutdown losses during equipment assembly and maintenance.
Every MTS6-321-0 transducer undergoes strict acoustic performance testing and calibration before factory shipment to ensure consistent measurement performance among individual products. Daily maintenance only needs regular surface cleaning of the transducer contact surface, with few vulnerable wearing parts and long service lifespan. With intrinsic safety explosion-proof certification for hazardous industrial zones, it acts as an essential original matching sensor for industrial ultrasonic flow metering systems to guarantee long-term stable flow data monitoring.
