GE 1200M Portable Ultrasonic Thickness Gauge

GE 1200M is a handheld ultrasonic thickness measuring instrument for wall thickness detection of metal pipes and equipment, featuring high measuring precision and strong environmental adaptability for industrial non-destructive testing.

Description

GE 1200M is a cost-effective thickness gauge under GE Panametrics NDT product system, mainly used for real-time thickness measurement of metallic and some non-metallic materials such as carbon steel, stainless steel, aluminum alloy, copper and plastic pipeline walls. It calculates material thickness by transmitting ultrasonic pulses to the workpiece surface and capturing the reflected echo from the inner wall or corrosion layer, widely applied in regular safety inspection of pressure vessels, heating pipelines, chemical delivery pipelines, boiler tubes and storage tanks.
The internal circuit is equipped with high-speed signal processing chips and multi-level noise filtering algorithms, which can shield signal interference caused by workpiece surface rust, coating layers and field mechanical vibration. It supports multiple probe matching schemes to satisfy thickness measurement requirements for thin-walled pipelines and thick industrial equipment structures. The device is built with automatic sound velocity calibration function; inspectors can finish sound velocity correction with standard test blocks quickly to guarantee the authenticity of measured data and lower manual measurement errors.
Equipped with a backlit high-contrast LCD screen, the reading keeps clear under strong sunlight, dark workshops and night field inspection environments. The whole machine adopts compact handheld structural design with shock-resistant and dust-proof casing, suitable for high-altitude pipeline inspection, confined space detection and outdoor long-term field work. Built-in large-capacity rechargeable battery provides long continuous working hours without frequent power replacement during continuous inspection tasks.
Standard data storage function is reserved to record groups of thickness measurement data, and stored records can be exported to computers for sorting, archiving and inspection report compilation through data interfaces. The operation layout adopts simplified shortcut keys, reducing learning costs for front-line testing staff. There are no easily worn vulnerable parts in the host body, and only regular cleaning of the probe contact surface is required for daily maintenance, effectively cutting the long-term operating cost of enterprise quality inspection departments and third-party testing organizations. With complete industrial safety certifications, it is a common conventional measuring tool for equipment corrosion monitoring and pipeline wall thinning risk assessment in the process industry.
