Description
GE 25DL-RR belongs to the classic Panametrics 25DL series ultrasonic thickness measuring instrument. The RR (Reduction Rate) version is specially optimized for corrosion assessment, capable of displaying real wall thickness together with the percentage of material thickness loss compared against preset nominal thickness value, making it ideal for long-term pipeline and pressure vessel corrosion tracking.
The instrument adopts single-sided non-destructive ultrasonic testing principle. Operators only need access to one surface of test objects without cutting or dismantling equipment. It supports measurements on steel, alloy, plastic, glass and other homogeneous materials. Selectable high precision resolution reaches 0.001 mm, meeting strict industrial inspection standards.
Equipped with backlit LCD screen and full-function keypad, it supports inch/metric unit switching, Min/Max capture and audible visual thickness alarms. Built-in large-capacity data logger stores more than 5000 measurement records with location identifiers for archiving and later analysis. Multiple measurement modes can be quickly recalled, compatible with contact transducers, delay line transducers and immersion transducers for diverse testing scenarios.
The optional A-scan waveform function allows technicians to observe echo signals directly on the screen, effectively identifying false echoes caused by internal material defects and improving measurement accuracy. Standard RS232 communication interface supports data export to computers for generating formal inspection reports. Rugged lightweight portable housing adapts to outdoor field inspection environments.

Before testing, users need to select matched transducer and complete sound velocity calibration with reference test blocks. Apply qualified coupling medium between probe and workpiece surface. Avoid heavy impact and sharp bending of transducer cables. For new projects, modern Olympus ultrasonic thickness gauge series are recommended as upgraded alternatives.
