GE Panametrics 25DL Handheld Ultrasonic Precision Thickness Gauge
Description
GE Panametrics 25DL is a classic handheld ultrasonic thickness gauge widely used in non-destructive testing. It relies on ultrasonic echo technology to measure material thickness only from a single surface, no need to access the back side of workpieces.
The instrument supports three measurement modes and is compatible with contact, delay line and immersion transducers. The measuring range on steel covers 0.15 mm to 500 mm, and 0.08 mm to 50 mm for plastic materials. Users can select three resolution grades: 0.001 mm, 0.01 mm and 0.1 mm, with freely switchable mm/inch units.
Equipped with internal data logging function, it can store up to 5000 thickness records with alphanumeric labels. Data can be exported to computers or printers for report generation and quality traceability. High/low thickness alarm function assists operators to quickly identify thinning and corrosion areas.
Backlit LCD ensures clear reading under dim workshop and outdoor environments. Multiple preset transducer parameter profiles support rapid on-site configuration. It can measure carbon steel, stainless steel, castings, glass, rubber and fiberglass composites.
Typical applications include pipeline corrosion inspection, pressure vessel testing, boiler wall monitoring, ship hull inspection and mechanical component thickness verification. This model has been discontinued by the manufacturer. End users usually purchase calibrated refurbished units, matched transducers, coupling gel and transport cases for existing equipment maintenance and spare replacement.
