GE Panametrics CMX-1 Moisture Probe
Description
GE Panametrics CMX-1 is a widely adopted insertion-type moisture sensing probe, built on proven aluminum oxide thin-film sensing principle. It is compatible with multiple Panametrics moisture monitoring instruments including MMS35 series rack modules, PM880 portable hygrometer and MTS6 dew point transmitter.
The probe delivers stable measurement of trace water vapor inside compressed air, nitrogen, hydrogen, natural gas and hydrocarbon process gases. Its measurable dew point range covers ultra-dry conditions down to -110°C, meeting strict requirements for gas production, power generation and semiconductor processes.
The probe body adopts corrosion-resistant construction, supporting standard threaded process connections for easy installation inside sampling lines or gas pipelines. It features fast response speed and excellent long-term stability under continuous operation. Regular calibration can be performed on-site or in a calibration laboratory to maintain measurement accuracy.
Intrinsically safe variants are available for Zone 1 hazardous environments in petrochemical and offshore facilities. It is commonly configured with sampling systems to stabilize gas temperature and pressure, eliminating measurement fluctuations caused by unconditioned process media.
Typical applications include air dryer monitoring, hydrogen-cooled generator gas inspection, natural gas pipeline quality testing and inert gas purity control. Users can source brand-new CMX-1 probes, calibrated replacement sensors and matching sampling accessories for new system assembly, probe ageing replacement and equipment maintenance.
