GE Panametrics DigitalFlow GS868 Ultrasonic Steam Mass Flowmeter
Description
GE Panametrics DigitalFlow GS868 is a high-performance wall-mounted ultrasonic flow transmitter specially developed for steam measurement. It adopts patented transit-time ultrasonic technology, matched with dedicated steam transducers to realize continuous measurement of saturated steam and superheated steam in industrial pipelines.
The system supports clamp-on and wetted transducer configurations. No moving parts inside the measuring path, bringing zero pressure drop, low maintenance workload and long service life. It features ultra-wide turndown ratio up to 150:1, maintaining stable detection under low and high steam flow conditions. Dual-channel optional design supports dual-path measurement, effectively minimizing measuring errors caused by flow distortion and improving overall precision.
The main unit is equipped with graphic LCD and membrane keypad for on-site parameter configuration, real-time data display and built-in fault diagnosis. Rich output interfaces include isolated 4–20mA analog signals, pulse totalizers, programmable alarm relays, Modbus and Foundation Fieldbus communication. Measured data can be uploaded to DCS, PLC and SCADA for energy balance and steam consumption statistics.
The enclosure adopts epoxy-coated aluminum or stainless steel options, meeting NEMA 4X protection grade. Explosion-proof versions are available for hazardous industrial environments. It adapts to carbon steel, stainless steel and alloy pipelines covering a wide diameter range.
Typical application scenarios include power plants, chemical plants, refineries, district heating systems, food processing and paper mills. It is widely used for steam energy metering, pipeline loss monitoring and production cost accounting.
Customers can source complete GS868 systems, replacement main transmitters, supporting steam transducers, signal cables and mounting hardware for new project construction, equipment retrofitting and routine maintenance spare replacement.
