Emerson has launched a new, easily configurable welding platform, which fully meets the constantly changing manufacturing requirements.

Brookfield, Connecticut (March 31, 2026) - Emerson introduces the all-new BransonTM Polaris ultrasonic welding platform. With this highly configurable multi-purpose welding platform, advanced manufacturing engineers can design efficient connection solutions using software and hardware. The new Polaris platform aims to break through the limits of process efficiency and ensure excellent production quality and reliability. The platform is based on Emerson's cutting-edge technology in ultrasonic welding systems and is designed for the present and future, meeting the evolving global manufacturing needs.

The Polaris platform offers an intelligent solution with excellent adaptability, featuring secure connections and real-time control capabilities. It can be used to connect various materials and components, including automotive parts, medical equipment, consumer electronics, food packaging, household appliances, bioplastics and textiles.

Currently, manufacturers in most industries are confronted with multiple competitive challenges, such as changes in customer preferences, updates in regulatory legislation, and intensification of industry competition. These market forces require efficient production lines that can simultaneously meet production targets and sustainability goals.

Kerryn Harrington, the global product manager of Emerson Branson Ultrasonics, said: "Today's manufacturers require ultrasonic welding systems that must be adaptable and advanced in line with their own development. They need an automated platform that can be seamlessly integrated into the manufacturing environment and can be updated over time to meet changing needs."

Harrington added: "To achieve this, Emerson engineers will transform the Emerson Polaris ultrasonic welding platform into a flexible and scalable solution. Whether it's basic components or FDA-certified medical-grade products, this platform can meet the current and future strict requirements of various application scenarios. This innovation is based on Emerson's authoritative position in key ultrasonic welding processes, which have been widely adopted by numerous manufacturers worldwide."

The Polaris platform is composed of power supplies and controllers with diverse functions and software capabilities, and is equipped with a series of optional actuators, which can meet the needs of any application, regardless of its scale and complexity.

These technologies can be combined to build desktop equipment for development, laboratory testing and proof-of-concept purposes. Subsequently, they can be extended to be applied in fully automated production lines. The optional features not only reduce the system's floor space and increase the data storage capacity, but also enhance the secure interconnection among enterprise networks.

The Polaris platform supports the connection of upper-level systems such as programmable logic controllers (PLCs), enabling users to clearly understand and control the performance of the machine, and achieving an overall improvement in production efficiency, operational reliability, and welding accuracy.

By obtaining real-time information, operators can promptly adjust control parameters and parameter groups, thereby continuously optimizing the process and enhancing the overall equipment efficiency (OEE). For facilities operating in regulated environments, performance data also facilitates verification.

Manufacturing engineers can either choose individual components or collaborate with Emerson experts to jointly develop a customized welding system that perfectly meets their own needs. Emerson's ultrasonic welding technology has been widely used in global production environments for a long time. Its experts, with their profound professional capabilities, can provide technical support throughout the entire lifecycle of the welding system.
