NI SHC68-68

NI SHC68-68 is a standard 68-pin VHDCI to D-type shielded I/O cable, belonging to the basic connection cable of the NI DAQ system. It is used for signal transmission between M/X/S series DAQ devices and 68-pin terminal boards / signal conditioning accessories. It adopts a basic shielding + twisted pair design, meeting the requirements of conventional precision acquisition. It is the predecessor of the EP/EPM series and has a standard length of 1 meter (part number 182419-01). It is available in 2/5/10 meters options. Currently, it is mostly replaced by SHC68-68-EP/EPM.

Applicable scenarios

Laboratory routine collection: High-level signals such as voltage and current, in an environment without strong interference.

Basic DAQ system setup: M/X series DAQ cards connected to SCB-68/TBX-68 terminal boards.

Non-critical industrial monitoring: Monitoring of equipment status for devices with general accuracy requirements such as temperature and pressure.

Budget priority project: No strict requirements for noise reduction, aiming for a test system with controllable costs.

User and maintenance instructions Instruction Manual

Power-off insertion and removal: Before connecting or disconnecting, turn off the device power to avoid damaging the interface due to hot plugging.

Connection guidelines: Insert smoothly into the interface and tighten the screws for anti-loosening; avoid pulling and sharp corner bending.

Grounding requirements: Single-ended grounding of the shielding layer (DAQ end), to avoid ground loop interference.

Cabling attention: Keep away from strong interference sources such as high-voltage electricity and frequency converters; the bending radius should be ≥ 8 times the outer diameter.

Maintenance instructions

Environment: Dry and well-ventilated, maintain temperature and humidity within the rated range, and keep away from dust and corrosive gases.

Regular inspection: Check every quarter if the connectors are loose or oxidized, and if the outer skin of the cables is damaged.

Cleaning: Wipe with a dust-free soft cloth in the power-off state, and dry the dirty connectors with isopropyl alcohol.

Storage: Coil diameter ≥ 15cm, store in a cool and dry place, avoiding heavy pressure and direct sunlight.
