cDAQ-9178 is National Instruments CompactDAQ USB chassis for portable multi-sensor measurement systems. It adopts USB2.0 high-speed communication to connect PC, manages timing synchronization and data transmission between host and up to 8 pieces of C-series I/O modules. It integrates four 32-bit general counter/timers, with two front-panel BNC connectors for external clock, trigger and counter signal access. It can flexibly combine analog input, analog output, digital I/O modules to build mixed measurement system for vibration, temperature, pressure and pulse signal acquisition, widely used in laboratory test, product validation, mechanical condition monitoring and industrial bench measurement. It is still active NI DAQ hardware.

Desktop power supply is required for power feeding, operating temperature -20℃ ~ +55℃. Timing resolution 12.5 ns, timing accuracy 50 ppm of sample rate, aggregate analog output update rate up to 1.6 MS/s. Front panel LED indicators display power, active and module status for fast diagnosis. C-series modules support hot swap, users can configure channel types freely according to test requirements. Programming environment includes LabVIEW, LabWindows/CVI and Python DAQmx API.

Built-in hardware timing engine and FIFO buffer reduce data loss during high-speed sampling. Metal shell provides vibration resistance, suitable for bench and light industrial test environment. It does not contain built-in controller or FPGA, relies on PC for data processing and analysis.
