NI SH68-68-1
Description
Product Introduction
NI SH68-68-1 (often written as SH68-68-EP, 1 meter) is a 68-pin D-type shielded I/O cable used to connect NI DAQ devices with 68-pin terminal boards / signal conditioning accessories. It provides anti-interference transmission for analog, digital and counter signals, with a total length of 1 meter. Both ends have 68-pin 0.050-inch spacing female connectors, and it is a standard connection line for the E/M/S series DAQ and SCXI/SCB-68 and other accessories.

Interface and communication configuration
Both ends interface: 68-pin female connector, 0.050 inch spacing D-type (SCSI-II style) NI.
Adapting devices: E series, M series (USB-62xx), S series (61xx) DAQ cards NI.
Adapting accessories: SCXI-13xx terminal board, SCB-68, TBX-68, BNC-2110, etc.
Communication characteristics: Passive cable, no protocol conversion; full pin direct connection, supports differential/single-ended analog, digital I/O, counter signal parallel transmission NI.
Core functions
High integrity signal transmission: Independent twisted pair + multi-layer shielding, reduces crosstalk and EMI/RFI interference, ensures weak signal accuracy.
Plug-and-play connection: Both ends standard 68-pin female connector, quick connection of DAQ and terminal board, no additional adapter required NI.
Multi-signal compatibility: Supports analog input/output, digital I/O, counter/timer signals, compatible with mixed signal systems NI.
Industrial-grade reliability: Resistant to vibration, flexible bending, suitable for long-term operation in laboratories and industrial sites. Applicable scenarios
DAQ connection to terminal board: E/M/S series DAQ cards are connected to 68-pin connector boxes such as SCB-68 and TBX-68 from the NI side.
Front-end connection of the SCXI system: DAQ cards are directly connected to terminal boards such as SCXI-1377/1378 to build a high-channel-count acquisition system.
Low-level signal transmission: Anti-interference transmission of weak signals such as thermocouples, RTDs, and strain gauges.
High-speed digital and counter: Stable transmission of digital I/O, encoders, and counter signals from NI.
User and maintenance instructions Instruction Manual
Before plugging or unplugging: Turn off the power supply of the DAQ device and external peripherals before connecting or disconnecting. This prevents damage to the interface due to hot plugging.
Connector connection: Insert the connector smoothly into the interface, tighten the screws at both ends to prevent loosening due to vibration; avoid pulling the cable.
Signal distribution: Use differential pairs for analog signals, and keep digital signals away from analog cables to reduce crosstalk.
Grounding specification: Single-ended grounding of the shielding layer (at the DAQ end); avoid ground loop interference.
Maintenance instructions
Environment: Keep dry and ventilated, away from strong electromagnetic sources, dust, and corrosive gases, with temperature and humidity within the rated range.
Regular inspection: Check every quarter if the connector is loose or oxidized, and if the outer skin of the cable is damaged; clean the dirt on the connector with isopropyl alcohol, dry it, and then use it.
Cleaning: Wipe the cables and connectors with a dust-free soft cloth while the power is off. Do not allow liquids to directly contact the interface.
Storage: When not in use, coil the cables (diameter ≥ 15cm), store them in a cool and dry place, and avoid heavy pressure and direct sunlight.
