Description

Product Introduction

The NI SCXI-1349 is a single-box cable adapter with shielding function, with the standard part number 776574-01. This device is mainly used to connect 68-pin E-series DAQ equipment with the SCXI standard chassis, completing interface conversion and signal transmission. It is only suitable for building a single-box acquisition system and does not support multi-box serial expansion. With its full-metal shielding structure, it can ensure signal transmission quality in complex electromagnetic environments.

Model Interpretation

SCXI represents the Instrument Signal Conditioning Expansion Platform, which belongs to the NI modular signal conditioning hardware system. 13xx series are front-end accessories for the SCXI system. SCXI-1349 is an interface adapter specifically designed for single-box connection, achieving signal connection between DAQ equipment and the SCXI chassis. Technical Specifications

Electrical parameters

This adapter is only compatible with 68-pin E-series DAQ devices and cannot be compatible with 61XXE, M-series, or X-series DAQ devices. Apart from some SCXI switch modules, it can be used with the majority of conventional SCXI functional modules. The device is equipped with three sets of connectors. A 68-pin male connector is set on the front for connecting DAQ devices; an onboard 50-pin male connector enables signal splitting and on-site debugging; and a 50-pin female connector is on the back for connecting to the SCXI chassis. The maximum working voltage of the signal circuit is 30 volts RMS AC, 42 volts peak, and 60 volts DC. A shielding cable is provided for line connection.

Mechanical and environmental parameters

The device adopts SCXI standard specifications and is installed in an end-facing manner, relying on brackets for fixation. The working temperature range is 0 degrees Celsius to 50 degrees Celsius, and the storage temperature range is -20 degrees Celsius to 70 degrees Celsius. The relative humidity of the working environment is maintained between 10% and 90%, and condensation is strictly prohibited within the environment. The overall design uses a full-metal shielding shell, which can effectively resist electromagnetic interference.

Interface and communication configuration

The 68-pin interface on the front is responsible for connecting external DAQ devices, while the 50-pin interface on the back connects to the internal bus of the SCXI chassis. The onboard 50-pin interface can separately lead out signals, facilitating line detection and connection of external terminal boards. The device does not require additional hardware jumpers or parameter settings. After wiring, it can operate normally. It fully complies with NI-DAQmx drivers and supports mainstream software development environments such as LabVIEW, C/C++, and LabWindows/CVI.

Core functions

It realizes the signal conversion from 68-pin interface to 50-pin interface, completing the stable connection between E-series DAQ devices and a single SCXI chassis. An independent 50-pin signal interface is reserved to facilitate daily line debugging, signal monitoring, and connection of external terminal boards. The full-metal shielding structure reduces external electromagnetic noise, improving the stability and measurement accuracy of signal transmission. The installation and wiring process is simple, and it is compatible with various standard SCXI chassis and can be used for the construction of conventional signal acquisition systems. Applicable scenarios

Mainly applied to SCXI data acquisition systems with single chassis architecture, it completes the collection of conventional industrial signals such as voltage, current, and temperature. Suitable for environments with electromagnetic interference in industrial sites and laboratories, for conducting high-precision signal measurement work. It can also be used in scenarios where it is necessary to temporarily extract bus signals for equipment debugging and parameter calibration.

User and Maintenance Instructions Instruction Manual

Before carrying out the installation and wiring work, the power supply of the entire system must be cut off. Align the adapter with the front slot of the chassis and push it in smoothly, then fix it firmly with a bracket. According to the interface definition, use shielded cables to connect the DAQ device with the 68-pin interface of the adapter. Keep the 50-pin interface at the back in reliable contact with the chassis. This device does not support multi-box cascading expansion. Do not connect in a series manner. Avoid using it together with the specified SCXI switch module to prevent equipment abnormalities.

Maintenance Instructions

Place the device in a dry and ventilated area to ensure that the environmental temperature and humidity are within the rated range. Keep it away from strong electromagnetic sources, dust, and corrosive gases. Regularly check the connection status of each interface, check if the plugs are loose, and whether the metal contacts are oxidized. Address any problems promptly. When cleaning the device, make sure to disconnect all power supplies. Use a dust-free soft cloth to wipe the surface of the device and the interface contacts. Do not use liquids to directly contact the components. When left idle for a long time, remove all connection cables and store the adapter in a cool and dry place.
