NI SCXI-1346
Description
Product Introduction
The NI SCXI-1346 is a multi-box cable adapter with shielding function, with the standard part number 776574-46. This device is mainly used to achieve the cascading networking of multiple SCXI chassis and complete the signal conversion between 68-pin and 50-pin interfaces. It can be used in combination with 68-pin E, M, and X series DAQ devices to expand the channel scale of the data acquisition system and is suitable for large-scale distributed signal acquisition scenarios.
Model Interpretation
SCXI represents the Instrument Signal Conditioning Expansion Platform, which is a modular signal conditioning hardware system under NI. 13xx belongs to the front-end accessory series of the SCXI system. SCXI-1346 is specifically designed for multi-box cascading and interface conversion, used to connect DAQ devices and multiple SCXI chassis. Technical Specifications
Electrical parameters
The compatible equipment is 68-pin E, M, and X series DAQ devices, and is incompatible with the 61XXE series products. Except for SCXI-1127, SCXI-1128, SCXI-1190, and SCXI-1191, it can be used with most of the SCXI functional modules. The device is equipped with four connectors, with two 68-pin male interfaces on the front, which are used for connecting the DAQ device signals and transmitting signals to the next-level chassis; the onboard 50-pin male interface is used for signal splitting, and the 50-pin female interface is configured on the back. The matching SH68-68-EP series shielded cables are provided, with various specifications available for the cable length. The overall structure adopts a full-metal shielding design, effectively resisting electromagnetic interference.
Mechanical and environmental parameters
It follows the SCXI standard structure specifications, adopts the front-end installation method, and is fixed through brackets. The working temperature range is 0 degrees Celsius to 50 degrees Celsius, and the storage temperature range is -20 degrees Celsius to 70 degrees Celsius. The relative humidity of the working environment is 10% to 90%, and no condensation should occur during operation.
Interface and communication configuration
The two groups of 68-pin interfaces on the front realize serial communication between chassis and between chassis and DAQ devices, and the onboard and back 50-pin interfaces can be externally connected to output signals, facilitating line debugging and connection with external devices. The device does not require additional hardware jumpers for configuration, and can work normally after connecting the lines. It is compatible with NI-DAQmx driver programs and supports mainstream software development environments such as LabVIEW, C/C++, and LabWindows/CVI.
Core functions
It supports the sequential connection of multiple SCXI chassis, significantly expanding the overall channel quantity of the system and meeting the requirements of high-channel acquisition. It realizes the mutual conversion of 68-pin and 50-pin signal interfaces, flexibly adapting to different wiring devices and terminal boards. The full-metal shielding design weakens industrial site electromagnetic noise and ensures stable signal transmission. The structural design is simple, the installation and wiring are convenient, and it is compatible with various standard SCXI chassis systems. Applicable scenarios
It is mainly used for building large-scale SCXI data acquisition systems with multiple chassis, to achieve centralized collection of multiple voltage, current, temperature and other signals. It is applied in test systems where the E, M, and X series DAQ devices are connected to multi-level SCXI chassis. It can also be used in scenarios where a 50-pin interface needs to be extracted from a 68-pin bus for signal monitoring and line debugging.
User and Maintenance Instructions Instruction Manual
Before installing, make sure to cut off the power supply of the entire system. Align the adapter with the front slot of the chassis and push it in firmly. When cascading the chassis, complete the wiring in the order of connecting the input interface of the DAQ device to the output interface of this level of chassis, and then connecting the output interface of the next chassis. When using the 50-pin interface for signal extraction or debugging, strictly follow the interface definition for connection. During use, avoid using SCXI-1127, SCXI-1128, SCXI-1190, and SCXI-1191 modules.
Maintenance Instructions
The equipment should be placed in a dry and ventilated environment, with temperature and humidity maintained within the rated range. Keep away from strong electromagnetic interference sources, dust, and corrosive gases. Regularly check the connection status of the interfaces, and check if the plugs are loose or if the metal contacts are oxidized. Address any abnormalities promptly. Before cleaning the equipment, disconnect all power supplies. Use a dust-free soft cloth to wipe the surface and interface contacts. Do not use liquids to directly rinse. When the equipment is idle for a long time, remove the connection cables, place the adapter in a cool and dry place for proper storage.
