PCI-6220
Description
PCI‑6220 | Product Introduction
The NI PCI‑6220 is a low-cost multi-functional DAQ card in the M series of National Instruments (NI), a PCI bus, full-length card. It features 16 analog inputs (16 bit/250 kS/s) + 24 DIO + 2 counters, without analog outputs. It is suitable for laboratory automation, research and development verification, small-scale production testing, general sensor acquisition, etc., in cost-sensitive, medium-low speed scenarios. Part number: 779347‑01; discontinued (EOL), replacement model: PCIe‑6320NI.

VI. Installation and Usage Tips (Core of the Manual) Installation
Turn off the power, insert into the standard PCI slot, and secure the cover screws.
After powering on, the device will be identified and self-tested in MAX (Measurement & Automation Explorer).
Wiring (68-pin VHDCI)
AI: Single-ended connect AIn + GND; differential connect AI+ / AI−, with common-mode voltage not exceeding ±11 V.
DIO: TTL level, common ground, avoid long-distance and stray lines.
Software configuration (NI-DAQmx)
Sampling mode: Asynchronous scan (asynchronous).
Range: Select ±0.2 / ±1 / ±5 / ±10 V according to signal amplitude.
Trigger: Commonly used edge trigger (rising / falling). Notes for Attention
The analog input must not exceed ±11 V; otherwise, it will damage the front end.
There is no isolation, and it is not suitable for strong interference/high voltage environments. It requires a SCC/SCXI signal conditioning NI.
VII. Core Features
16 channels of 16-bit AI, 250 kS/s, 24 DIO, 2 counters, complete functions NI
Low cost, PCI bus, plug-and-play, stable NI-DAQmx driver NI
Channels can be configured as single-ended/differential, suitable for most sensors and low-voltage signals
Applications: Laboratory acquisition, research and development verification, production testing, small-scale data recording NI
