1. General Description

The MVME‑147A is a legacy 6U VMEbus single‑board computer, designed as a pin‑compatible upgrade to the original Motorola MVME‑147. It uses the MC68030 32‑bit CPU @ 20 MHz (integrated MMU, 256‑byte unified instruction/data cache) and an MC68882 FPU @ 20 MHz for floating‑point operations. Onboard 8 MB DRAM (non‑parity) for general‑purpose embedded use. Peripherals include four EIA‑232‑D serial ports, a Centronics parallel port, asynchronous SCSI (WD33C93), and battery‑backed 4 KB SRAM/RTC. The VMEbus interface supports master/slave operation with A16/A24 addressing and D8/D16/D32 data widths. The “A” revision denotes minor PCB and component updates for improved reliability, while maintaining full hardware/software compatibility with the base MVME‑147.
