KEYENCE DL-PN1 DL Series PROFINET Network Communication Unit

Overview The KEYENCE DL-PN1 is a DL-series PROFINET communication unit for Keyence sensor amplifiers with D‑bus interface. It converts D‑bus sensor signals to PROFINET protocol to exchange data with PLC controllers, widely stocked as spare for packaging machinery, automated assembly and factory automation systems.

Features This DL-PN1 supports PROFINET Conformance Class A, GSDML V2.3. The DL-PN1 can connect up to 8 D‑bus compatible sensor amplifiers, with update time adjustable from 2ms to 512ms. It has multi-color LED status indicators for network, module and D‑bus communication diagnosis, and supports LLDP and DCP protocols. It is powered by the connected sensor amplifier (20–30VDC).

Principle The module communicates with D‑bus sensor amplifiers to collect sensor measurement and status data, then transmits the data to the PROFINET master PLC. It also forwards control commands from the PLC to the sensor amplifiers, and outputs alarm signals for communication faults.

Applications The DL-PN1 is widely deployed in packaging lines, automotive assembly stations and machine tool control cabinets. It is used for network conversion of Keyence digital sensors and amplifiers for PROFINET-based automation systems.
