Overview

The HP ProCurve 2510G-24 J9279A is a 1U rack-mount Layer 2 managed gigabit switch. It has 20 fixed RJ45 gigabit ports plus 4 dual-personality combo ports for RJ45 or mini-GBIC fiber uplink, widely stocked as spare for factory automation, office and server room network infrastructure.

Features

This 2510G-24 supports VLAN, LACP link aggregation, QoS priority queue and SNMP management. The J9279A includes a serial console port for local configuration, auto-MDIX and broadcast storm control. It is an end-of-life legacy HPE switch, replaced by the 2530 series.

Principle

The switch forwards Ethernet frames by MAC address table lookup. It supports VLAN isolation and link aggregation to expand bandwidth, and provides remote monitoring via SNMP. It logs port status and network fault events for maintenance.

Applications

The 2510G-24 J9279A is widely deployed in factory control rooms, packaging production lines, office networks and small server rooms. It is used for industrial and office gigabit network access and uplink switching.
