Maxon DSR 70/30 235811 Shunt Regulator
Description
Maxon DSR 70/30 235811 Shunt Regulator
Overview
The Maxon DSR 70/30 235811 is a shunt regulator, also known as brake chopper, designed as an accessory for Maxon EPOS series servo positioning controllers. This Maxon DSR 70/30 235811 absorbs regenerative energy generated by motors during deceleration and braking, stabilizes the DC bus voltage and prevents overvoltage faults of the servo amplifier. It is widely used in high‑dynamic motion axes on automation skids, robotics, packaging equipment and pick‑and‑place stations. The code 602038000745 is the unique serial number of this unit.
Features
The Maxon DSR 70/30 235811 handles regenerative energy dissipation for Maxon EPOS servo drives.DSR 70/30 235811 provides adjustable threshold voltage from 12 V to 75 V. Built‑in buffer capacitor bank with 8800 µF capacitance for voltage smoothing. Short‑term peak power dissipation reaches 475 W, continuous power dissipation is 25 W. Integrated overvoltage and overtemperature protection circuits. Direct compatibility with EPOS3 and EPOS4 positioning controllers. Compliant with CE and relevant industrial EMC requirements.
Specs
Device Type: Shunt Regulator / Brake Chopper Model: Maxon DSR 70/30 Part number: 235811 Serial No.: 602038000745 Brand: Maxon Operating voltage: 12–70 VDC Adjustable threshold: 12–75 V Buffer capacitance: 8800 µF Peak dissipation power: 475 W Continuous dissipation power: 25 W Terminal: 10-pole, 5 mm pitch Dimensions: 180 × 103 × 26 mm Weight: 500 g Compatible drive: EPOS3, EPOS4 Status: Genuine Maxon servo accessory spare part
Principle
The Maxon DSR 70/30 235811 continuously monitors the DC bus voltage of the servo system. When the bus voltage rises above the preset threshold due to motor regeneration, the internal shunt circuit activates and consumes the surplus energy as heat. This suppresses voltage spikes and protects the positioning controller from overvoltage shutdown. The internal capacitor bank suppresses transient voltage fluctuations.
Applications
The Maxon DSR 70/30 235811 is applied to high‑dynamic servo axes with frequent acceleration and deceleration, including robotic joints, packaging process skids, pick‑and‑place stations and precision automation equipment. The DSR 70/30 235811 is stocked as spare replacement for Maxon EPOS servo drive systems.
