Description

GEFEC 255.118U Industrial Control Module

Overview

The GEFEC 255.118U is a rack-mounted control module for legacy GE distributed control and turbine control systems. The GEFEC 255.118U handles analog and discrete signal acquisition, signal conditioning and interlock logic for field sensors and actuators. It communicates with the main controller via the internal backplane bus to transmit measurement data and fault status. The GEFEC 255.118U is a discontinued spare component, widely stocked for overhaul and emergency repair of existing GE control cabinets.

Features

The GEFEC 255.118U supports multi-channel signal isolation and filtering to reduce electrical interference in high vibration industrial environments. It provides continuous channel diagnostics for open circuit, short circuit and communication failure. The GEFEC 255.118U follows standard backplane protocol and supports hot swap in compatible rack chassis. It adopts industrial-grade circuit design and matches original wiring layout for direct drop-in replacement. The GEFEC 255.118U delivers stable long-term performance for power plant and heavy industry control applications.

Specs

Device Type: Industrial control module Model: GEFEC 255.118U Bus Interface: Internal rack backplane bus Signal Type: Analog input, discrete input and output Mounting: Rack mount Operating Temperature: Standard industrial range Status: Obsolete legacy spare part Application: Gas turbine control, DCS, power distribution automation

Principle

The GEFEC 255.118U cyclically scans connected field sensors and switches. It converts raw analog signals into standard digital values and sends data to the master controller. The master controller executes control sequence and safety protection logic based on these signals. When channel abnormality or module hardware fault is detected, the GEFEC 255.118U uploads fault codes and triggers alarm notification to the system.

Applications

The GEFEC 255.118U is used for signal sampling and interlock control in gas turbine and combined-cycle power plant control cabinets. It serves process monitoring and safety loop restoration for industrial DCS systems. The GEFEC 255.118U applies to spare inventory and planned overhaul of legacy GE automation equipment. It also supports emergency outage repair for critical power generation control systems.
