Emerson DeltaV KJ2003X1-BB1 VE3005

The KJ2003X1-BB1 VE3005 is the MD controller module for Emerson DeltaV DCS distributed control system. This VE3005 MD controller executes continuous control logic, PID loops, sequence programs and interlock strategies, manages local I/O bus and communicates with DeltaV control network. The part number KJ2003X1-BB1 is the hardware code, VE3005 is the commercial model designation; KJ2003X1-BA2 is another common revision variant of VE3005.

This VE3005 supports simplex or redundant hot standby pairing for bumpless switchover. It is powered by the DeltaV carrier backplane, equipped with status LEDs for power, run, active, standby and fault diagnosis. It works with DeltaV M-series I/O carriers and traditional I/O cards, supports HART instrument data exchange and AMS asset management. Configuration, download and fault diagnosis are completed via DeltaV Explorer software. Conformal coated PCB versions are available for corrosive cabinet environments. It is hot-swappable under permitted operation conditions.

The VE3005 MD controller is widely deployed in refineries, chemical plants, power plants and oil & gas process control loops. This classic MD controller series is discontinued by Emerson. Most available KJ2003X1-BB1 VE3005 units are tested surplus spare parts for DCS cabinet overhaul and emergency controller replacement. Revision matching is critical during spare swapping to avoid firmware and compatibility issues.
