WARTSILA ESM-20 ENGINE PROTECTION MODULE
WARTSILA ESM-20 (Part No.PAAF074369 / PAAE192444) is independent engine safety protection module for Wärtsilä CIB marine four-stroke engine automation platform, deployed on marine auxiliary genset and propulsion diesel engines. This engine protection module continuously monitors critical engine parameters including lube oil pressure, cooling water temperature, exhaust temperature and overspeed condition. The engine protection module works independently from main BMCM controller, executes pre-alarm, slowdown and emergency shutdown interlock once hazardous operating condition detected to prevent catastrophic engine damage. The engine protection module equips hardware watchdog and fault event memory, records trip history for troubleshooting, communicates with vessel IAS integrated alarm system via fieldbus, supports local parameter configuration and diagnostic reading. The engine protection module serves as independent safety spare part for Wartsila engine control cabinet overhaul and marine engine safety system retrofit.

This ESM-20 adopts rack slot insertion mounting, powered by shipboard 24VDC control supply, IP20 protection rating for cabinet installation.
