Description
EMERSON RS2LAN CONTROLLER LAN CONVERTER 1970-002 REV.0002
EMERSON RS2LAN (Part No.1970-002, Rev.0002) is an industrial serial-to-Ethernet LAN converter / communication controller, designed to bridge legacy RS serial field devices to TCP/IP Ethernet network for Emerson process control systems. This serial to LAN converter realizes bidirectional protocol conversion between RS232/RS485 serial bus and Ethernet, allowing old serial instruments, transmitters and controllers to connect to modern LAN control network without hardware modification. The serial to LAN converter supports Modbus RTU and other common industrial serial protocols, enables remote configuration, data reading and diagnostic access over Ethernet. The serial to LAN converter integrates built-in watchdog circuit, communication fault detection and status LED indicators for real-time link monitoring. The serial to LAN converter serves as critical communication spare part for DCS cabinet overhaul and legacy field instrument network retrofit.
This RS2LAN 1970-002 REV.0002 unit adopts DIN rail mounting design, powered by 24VDC auxiliary supply. RS2LAN features galvanic isolation between serial port and Ethernet port to suppress ground loop interference and protect control network. RS2LAN supports IP address configuration, serial baud rate adjustment and data transparency transmission. RS2LAN meets industrial EMC standards, widely used in oil & gas, chemical, power plant and tank gauging control systems to extend legacy serial devices onto LAN.
As rugged industrial communication hardware, this EMERSON converter ensures stable transparent data transmission between serial field equipment and control LAN under strong electromagnetic interference. EMERSON communication spare parts include RS2LAN converters, serial interface boards, network adapters and terminal blocks for DCS and SCADA system maintenance. EMERSON serial to LAN converters are trusted replacement units for legacy process control serial network upgrade projects.
