8440-2164

Woodward 8440‑2164 is the SPM‑D2‑1040B high‑precision digital automatic synchronizer, the upgraded replacement for 8440‑1019. It is a standalone microprocessor‑based synchronization controller for generator‑to‑grid and generator‑to‑generator paralleling, widely used in industrial power stations, marine power systems, oil‑gas backup power plants and distributed energy micro‑grids. It monitors voltage, frequency and phase angle in real‑time, automatically adjusts speed/voltage, and sends breaker closing pulse at optimal phase position to realize bumpless synchronization.

Description

Core Functions

  1. High‑precision phase, frequency and voltage matching for genset parallel operation with mains or other generators.

  2. Automatic speed trim output (4‑20 mA / pulse signal) to adjust engine governor for frequency synchronization.

  3. Automatic voltage matching control; configurable sync window, slip frequency and phase angle threshold.

  4. Built‑in anti‑parallax protection, reverse‑power interlock and breaker failure detection functions.

  5. Front‑panel digital display and key operation; Modbus‑RTU communication for remote monitoring and parameter configuration.

  6. DIN‑rail/panel‑mount compatible design, plug‑and‑play integration with Woodward easYgen and 2301 series governors.
