9904-254

Woodward 9904‑254 is a digital speed‑load controller with integrated auto‑synchronizer from the 9904 series, based on the proven 2301A control platform. It is designed for diesel/gas engines, steam/gas turbines and generator sets, combining precision speed governing, load sharing, automatic synchronization, overspeed protection and fault diagnostics. Class 1 Div 2 hazardous area certified, it is widely used in power generation, petrochemical, oil‑gas and marine heavy‑duty industrial systems.

Description

Core Functions

  1. Dual control modes: isochronous mode for single‑unit constant‑speed operation; droop mode for multi‑unit parallel load sharing.

  2. Built‑in auto‑synchronizer for automatic frequency, phase and voltage matching to achieve smooth grid connection.

  3. PID closed‑loop speed‑load regulation with critical speed avoidance, valve stroke limit, load rejection protection and startup ramp control.

  4. Real‑time overspeed monitoring, self‑diagnosis, fault logging and multi‑channel relay alarm outputs.

  5. 4‑20 mA analog remote setpoint input for upper‑level DCS/PLC system integration.

  6. Local panel configuration, online tuning and real‑time monitoring via dedicated Woodward software.
