Woodward 9904‑206 is a 9904‑series digital speed‑load controller with integrated auto‑synchronizer, built on the mature 2301A control platform. Designed for diesel/gas engines, steam/gas turbines and generator sets, it integrates high‑precision speed governing, load sharing, automatic grid synchronization, overspeed monitoring and fault diagnosis. With Class 1 Div 2 hazardous area certification, it is widely used in power generation, petrochemical, marine and heavy‑duty industrial control systems.

Core Functions

  1. Dual control modes: isochronous mode for constant‑speed operation of single unit; droop mode for load sharing of parallel‑running multiple units.

  2. Built‑in high‑precision auto‑synchronizer to automatically match frequency, phase and voltage for smooth grid connection.

  3. High‑precision PID closed‑loop speed control, supporting critical speed avoidance, valve stroke limit, load rejection protection and startup ramp control.

  4. Real‑time overspeed monitoring, hardware‑level self‑diagnosis and multi‑channel relay alarm output.

  5. 4‑20 mA analog remote setpoint input, compatible with upper‑level DCS/PLC linkage control.
