VI. Installation and Maintenance

(1) Installation Requirements

Installation location: Installed on Ovation standard I/O rack DIN rail or 19-inch cabinet, installed firmly and vibration-proof; The module is reserved with a minimum of 150mm on the top and 80mm on the sides for heat dissipation space. It should be kept away from strong heat sources and strong electromagnetic sources (such as frequency converters and high-power motors) to ensure smooth ventilation.

Installation guidelines: Use standard snap fasteners or rack mounting components for installation to ensure good contact between the module and the backplate; when installing, wear an anti-static wristband to avoid damage to electronic components due to static electricity; when installing multiple modules in parallel, the spacing should be ≥80mm to ensure heat dissipation and signal isolation; when redundant installation is required, the spacing between the two modules should be ≥150mm to facilitate maintenance and heat dissipation.

Wiring guidelines: On the input side, use 1.5–2.5mm² multi-strand copper core AC power cables, ensure secure wiring without looseness, and clearly distinguish the live wire, neutral wire, and ground wire; on the output side, use 2.5–4mm² multi-strand copper core DC cables, correctly connect the positive and negative poles of the dual output, avoiding reverse polarity; the tightening torque of all wiring terminals should be controlled within 1.8–2.2N·m to prevent loosening and overheating; the cables should be neatly arranged, kept away from strong electromagnetic interference sources, and avoid excessive bending.

Regular inspection: Monthly check the appearance of the module, LED status indicator lights, the operating status of the cooling fan, and the wiring terminals to confirm that the input and output voltages are normal, and there are no overheating, abnormal sounds, or loose phenomena; check the DCS system diagnostic log to identify potential hazards such as input abnormalities, output fluctuations, fan failures, and communication abnormalities.

Cleaning maintenance: Every quarter, use a dry soft cloth or low-pressure compressed air (≤0.5MPa) to wipe the module surface, cooling fan, and ventilation ports, remove dust and oil stains to prevent dust accumulation from affecting heat dissipation and insulation performance; in dusty environments, the cleaning cycle can be shortened to once a month; do not use corrosive cleaning agents or liquids for direct wiping.

Fault troubleshooting: When the output is abnormal, first check if the input voltage is normal and if the wiring is loose, then check if the load is short-circuited or overloaded; when the fan stops rotating, check the fan power supply or replace the fan; when there is a communication abnormality, check the wiring of the communication interface and network configuration; when the module fails, perform online hot-swapping replacement operation, and after replacement, verify the output voltage and load operation status.

Replacement precautions: Support online hot-swapping, no need to stop the machine for replacement; first disconnect the input switch of the faulty module, remove the wiring, then take out the module, install the new module and restore the wiring, close the input switch, confirm that the module starts normally and the output is stable; the old module should be stored according to specifications to avoid damage from static electricity and moisture.
